Each month we'll be featuring resources and information on a variety of topics. We are constantly upating information on our site, and urge you to visit often!

  Common Core State Standards

Check out our Common Core English Language Arts Standards. Each Grade Level is full of resources for every individual standard. Students can take control of their own learning by clicking on the page with the standard number, and choosing their own resource to practice that skill. Click on your Grade Level to find English Language Arts Standard Resources and learning tools.

  App Of The Month

The November App of the Month is Lumio Farm Factor: Multiply and Divide Basics. This Fall themed app is a fun way for kids to practice their multiplication and division skills this Autumn. Unlock story chapters and more problems as you progress through each level. Farm Factor aligns with Common Core Standards and helps kids to understand the underlying ideas and then build fluency in the concepts.

 

Requires iOS 6.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad, and iPod touch. This app is optimized for iPhone 5. 

  Things To Celebrate This Month
We're almost at the end of Fall but the school year is in high gear! November brings Thanksgiving, Veterans' Day, and much more. You never know what wonderful resources you can find to enrich your classroom experience. Let's get started!

National Aviation Month

Celebrate National Aviation this month in your classroom! Learn about the history of aviation, famous firsts in aviation, and visit the Aviation History Online Museum. Check out lesson plans and resource guides from the National Museum of the US Air Force and some fun airplane crafts!

 

Child Safety and Protection Month

It's always important to keep the safety of children in mind! Take a quiz about childhood safety and learn about food safety with lesson plans, activites, and other resources. Safe Kids Worldwide has a variety of tips for different risks for various ages. I4C also has resources and activities on our safety page for Kindergartners, fire safety page, internet safety page, and personal safety page.

 

Good Nutrition Month

Eating healthy nutritious meals is such an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has educational resources and interactive games and quizzes to help kids learn about nutrition! Also check out I4C's Nutrition Page for more resources to help children learn about healthy diets.

 

Native American Heritage Month

Celebrate the significant contributions Native Americans have made to the United States this month! Find lesson plans, classroom activities, and other teacher resources from the Smithsonian Institute, the Library of Congress, and the National Education Association.

 

Daylight Savings Time ends (11/2)

Did you remember to set your clocks back an hour today? Learn about why we set our clocks back and other interesting facts about Daylight Savings Time.

 

Veterans Day (11/11)

Honor our veterans today! Learn about Veterans Day, find Veterans Day themed activities and projects, and send a thank you letter to our troops on I4C's Veterans Day page.

 

Young Readers Day (11/11)

Promote the importance of reading! I4C has a collection of stories for elementary students, library resources, information on physical and virtual libraries, grade level help with reading and literature, and reading assessment practice.

Teach critical thinking to English language learners with these helpful activities. Math teachers, help your students' critical thinking skills with analyzing charts and graphs. Practice reading charts and use worksheets to analyze bar graphs. Get parents to help too! Share these tips with parents to enhance your students' critical thinking skills.

Don't Forget: Free Online Practice for ACT Test and SAT Test Resources.  I4C now offers free SAT and ACT vocabulary and math quizzes. Become a free member and log in as much as you'd like. Students can take practice tests on 5000 vocabulary words.Take daily practice math quizzes on over 1000 questions.  Log in to monitor your students' scores - including seeing which vocabulary words or math questions they missed. Interactive quizzes allow the test taker to retake and study as much as they want.

  Technology Tips

Tech Tip #1: Quickly Spell Check in Word - Remember to spell check documents before you print or email them! Click F7 while in word to automatically check your spelling throughout the document. Other Microsoft Word tips. 

 

Tech Tip #2: Restore Unsaved Documents - Did Word, Excel, or Powerpoint shut down before you could save your document? Microsoft Office 2010 will preserve the last automated backup and will let you open it. Click File->Recent->Recover Unsaved Documents and choose the document! Find more Office tutorials here. 

 

Tech Tip #3: Zoom In and Out on Webpages - Have you ever opened up a website and the text was either too small or too large to read? There's a keyboard shortcut to fix it! Zoom in by pressing "CTRL" and "+" and zoom out with "CTRL" and "-". More tech tips here.

This month's blog:  Using Incentives to Inspire Excellence  We all know that practice makes perfect. Step-wise tasks requiring many distinct thoughts become automatic through repetition. So how do you keep repetition from being drudgery? Get some idea in this month's blog.
Internet4classrooms.com is a free educational portal for teachers, parents, homeschoolers and students. Visitors come from around the world to find Internet resources for their educational needs. One can find resources ranging from lesson plans to worksheets, individual grade level resources to templates, and even interactive learning games.  We were very honored when one teacher called the site a "Walmart for Teachers". If you cannot find what you need for instruction on any topic, please feel free to email us and we will help you find resources to fit your needs.
