Our monthly newsletter focuses on sharing information, tips, and ideas on everything related to schooling inside the classroom and at home. Each month we'll be featuring resources and information on a variety of topics. We are constantly upating information on our site, and urge you to visit often.

  Common Core State Standards

Each Grade Level is full of resources for every individual standard. Students can take control of their own learning by clicking on the page with the standard number, and choosing their own resource to practice that skill.

 It's hard to find sites that have math standards examples that follow the specific criteria, but they're here. Click on your Grade Level to find Math Standard Resources and learning tools.

In honor of Music In Our Schools Month we're featuring Music Instruments by Tidels. This free app lets you hear music from many different instruments. See if you can identify the sound. Compatible with iPhone, iPod, and iPad OS 3.2.2 or later.

Internet4Classrooms offers a wide variety of informative online resources, tips, tools, and tutorials regarding your classroom needs. There is always something you can utilize with your students. Each month we'll feature a few links to useful topics.

I4C also offers math tools and online math interactives that give student practice with computation, estimation, measurement, story problems, and money. Whether you are a newcomer or an old pro, it's easy to get "lost" in everything I4C has to offer. We have subject help by grade level on almost all school topics. Don't forget to click and explore when you are looking for teacher resources. Here are a few main topics to get you started.

Don't Forget: Free Online Practice for ACT Test and SAT Test Resources.  I4C now offers free SAT and ACT vocabulary and math quizzes. Become a free member and log in as much as you'd like. Students can take practice tests on 5000 vocabulary words.Take daily practice math quizzes on over 1000 questions.  Log in to monitor your students' scores - including seeing which vocabulary words or math questions they missed. Interactive quizzes allow the test taker to retake and study as much as they want.

In addition to our teachers, parents can take advantage of our online resources as well.

Parents, make your own flashcards to offer study help at home. We also have a life skills page, that provides links to social, family, home, and every day life tools.

Keep encouraging reading at home by having your kids make their own bookmarks. The more involved they get, the more eager they will be to read.

If you're in need of  resources for Autism, ADHD, the Visually Impaired, and others, I4C has exceptional children tools you can browse during your free time.

The key to success very early on is to really practice sight words and letters. Make sure to check out these Dolch Sight Word resources and word lists.

Practice phonics, rhyming, syllables, and opposites with these Language Arts online skill builder interactives.

Provide bibliographic help during those book reports with these citation resources.

Tech Tip #1:  Get Organized:  Famjama.com offers a wonderful, FREE, online calendar for all of your scheduling needs. You can add family members, share your appointments, make grocery and errand lists, and much more. It's a great site if you need help keeping track of life. More organizational tools

  

Tech Tip #2:  Cool Search Engines: Here's a new search engine that offers extensive information. Wordnik.com not only defines words, it offers sentence use, internet searches, twitter searches, synonyms, antonyms, etc. all on one comprehensive page. More search engines at I4C.

 

Tech Tip #3:  Just Breathe: I know we've done this before but it bares repeating. Do Nothing for 2 Minutes. You won't believe how much it can change your whole day
