#BusyatChristChurch
A few months ago, Christie started using the hashtag 'busy at Christ Church' on Facebook. The best part of that hashtag is that 1. it is true and 2. it applies to so many, many wonderful things!

This Sunday is no exception:
*At 10am we are BLESSING THE BACKPACKS that we collected for underprivileged children in Vista, City Heights and Fallbrook.
*At 2pm we have an ACOLYTE TRAINING in the church. This is a great refresher for current acolytes and a good way to see what acolyting is all about if you have never done it before.
*At 3pm we are having our second annual BIKE BLESSING. Officer Greytock from the Coronado Police Department will be on hand to talk about bike safety with us. We will also be raffling off a helmet and u-lock to those in attendance. But most importantly, we will be blessing our bikes. Praying for a year of safety and good judgement when we are riding and giving thanks for living in a place where this can be a mode of transportation for both work and school.
*And finally at 6pm we will be gathering at Spreckles Park for CONCERT IN THE PARK. Bring your lawn chairs and something to share.
What a full and VIBRANT Sunday! Won't you join us for some of the fun? We sure are lucky to be...

Give us a WHIRL
Sunday School will kick off on Sunday, September 13th with the return of Come and Play, Stay to Pray at 9:30am. We meet on the playground for 20 minutes of playtime prior to the start of Sunday school. Teachers will pick up their classes on the playground and head up to the YFMC at 9:50am. This is a change from last year. Sunday School is starting at 9:50am for two very good reasons. Firstly, Charlette spent the summer researching new curriculum for this year and has selected a new program. Whirl is a tremendous program and we want to give kids a little more time to experience it. That means we start a few minutes earlier than church on Sunday. Which brings us to reason number two. Starting at 9:50am gives parents the opportunity to either grab a quick cup of coffee or get into the church a few minutes early for some quiet time with God. Charlette will have samples of the new curriculum for you to look through during Sundae Sunday!

Vision Board Workshop
THIS SATURDAY!

This Saturday from 1-4pm Charlette will be offering a Vision Board workshop in Hinde Hall. Creating a vision board is a powerful way to set goals and focus attention on the things that matter most in your life. The workshop is open to ages 12 through 112. If you are interested, please email Charlette to reserve your spot. This is a fantastic opportunity to build community while creating a vision for your future. There are only a few spots left though... so you better hurry!

Sundae Sunday

On Sunday, August 30th we will host our first Sundae Sunday! What is it you may ask? Well, it is ice cream sundaes after the 10am service AND Sunday School and Youth Group registration day. Charlette will be in the courtyard with a table full of ice cream goodness and information on this year's youth and family offerings. So start thinking about how you would like to be involved...

Youth Group?
Sunday School?
Acolyte?
Nursery Aide?
Sunday School Teacher?

So mark your calendars and make room in your dessert compartment... Sundae Sunday is on its way!
