A Woman's Place (AWP) is thrilled to announce that the Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) will present a limited engagement of
The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler. Performances will be Wednesday, February 13 - Sunday, February 17 at the Bucks County Playhouse located at 70 South Main Street in New Hope, PA. Proceeds will benefit A Woman's Place, with $10 from each full priced ticket sold being donated to the organization.
The Vagina Monologues is an award winning play written by Eve Ensler and directed by Karen Carpenter. Audience members will be entertained by a variety of monologues about the difficulties of being a woman and introduced to a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who "liked to look at it".
The cast will feature two BCP alums, Elizabeth Ashley and Andrea McArdle. Elizabeth Ashley is an award-winning actress who appeared alongside Robert Redford in Neil Simon's Nobody Loves Me. Andrea McArdle was Broadway's original Annie and appeared in They're Playing Our Song at the BCP in 1983.
