The 9th Annual Scarecrow Stroll Has Begun!
|
For the 9th year, the sidewalks of downtown Cranford have once again been taken over by wild, crazy, and funny scarecrows. The annual Autumn tradition kicked off on this week with scarecrows made by residents, businesses, clubs, schools, and organizations. There are over 90 creations this year, and they include "Cranford Ninja Warrior," "Run, Forrest, Run," "Arnold Pumpkin," and "Daisy, the Bug Lady."
The Scarecrow Stroll's fantastic creations will remain on display through Halloween and everyone is invited to vote for their favorites. Ballots are available at participating business and were also mailed to every Cranford home. Look for the bright orange mailbox in Eastman Clock Plaza to drop off your ballot.
Want to know where all of the scarecrows are?
We'll be kicking off the Scarecrow Stroll on October 21 from 5-7PM with music and giant board games at the Eastman Plaza Clock. Kids can feel free to come in their Halloween costumes and join in the fun.

Interactive Pedestrian Safety Map
|
The Downtown Management Corp. (DMC) is seeking input on making downtown more pedestrian-friendly. The initiative was kicked off on October 6 with a presentation by Anthony Durante, AICP, a transportation planner, on the existing conditions in downtown Cranford.
The public is encouraged to use the interactive online map that allows them to pinpoint specific streets and intersections and then identify actual concerns such as failure to yield to pedestrians, not enough time to cross or crosswalk is too long. The map will remain active for several months to gather input from the community. Please note that you must open the map on a computer, not a mobile device, in order to make comments.
