The Signs Of Spring
by Stephanie Fleming, Behnke's Vice President

Are you as tired of winter as I am? Enough already with the snow and ice days? The only good thing I can say about the cold weather is that I had some great times in it with my grandson.  But now I am ready for Spring. I decided this morning when I saw the sun shining that Spring is just about here and even if Old Man Winter comes a few more times, I am going to look for signs of warmer weather. I am watching for that first robin to appear in our yard. Looking closely for those first daffodils to come up or my grandmother's favorite: snowdrops.

Today, while thinking on this, I saw the first signs here at our garden center: folks shopping for their Spring garden. Seeds, seeds and more seeds were in their carts along with seed starter and little trays to get their vegetables going. Grow Lights, tools and other fun things because this year, don't you know, their gardens are going to be wonderful. They are going to have that first juicy, red, ripe tomato to tease their neighbors with.

The next sign was seeing that our fruit trees have arrived. That means the rest of our trees & shrubs are sure to follow soon. And then Spring will have arrived at last.

What are your first signs of Spring?
