Fall Color
This past weekend I was reminded of something I take for granted each day. I tend to complain about the hour-long drive I have to and from Behnke's, but when my cousin came out to my house on Saturday, she kept telling me what a beautiful drive it was. And the next day, as I was driving home, she mentioned it again on the phone (hands-free, I promise; phone calls come through the radio somehow). The more she talked about the beautiful Fall colors, the more I looked around as I drove. By this time I was on Rt. 29 crossing the bridge over the Patuxent River and could see the reflections of the leaves on the water. The view was stunning.
On Tuesday, hearing about big rains and winds heading our way, I felt sad that the leaves would not be there much longer. Before I know it, the leaves will be gone, the clocks will be turned back (this Sunday, by the way) and it will be dark as I drive home. I will have to make due with my morning drive into work, watching the next season as it arrives... brrrr...and enjoying the view.
