Christmas Time Is A Coming...Say What???
I can't believe it is already that time again. Time to price all the new Christmas items that we bought last January.
Each day more and more boxes arrive from all over the world. If you happen to be walking up the middle of our garden center from the Woodies Department to the Perennial Department and look into the big warehouse, you might see and hear a bunch of us checking out the new arrivals. Today was pretty hot, but with the large fan and lots of laughter, we got a lot of items unpacked. And when I say 'we' I really mean everyone else. Jessy and Becky led the way on the unpacking and pricing. I just kept passing through to see what had come in.
One bit of exciting news for those nutcracker collectors out there: we will be selling a private collection of mostly Steinbach Nutcrackers. The owners of these limited edition nutcrackers (some even signed) are moving to Nevada and just do not have room in their new home for them. All have been kept in a smoke free home and still have the original boxes. I can't wait to see them when they get set up.
Besides Christmas, we have Fall and Halloween products arriving. Yes, it is way too early to even be thinking of these things, but an elf's work is never done...and at Behnke's the elves, have to start in August to get it all ready for our Gardener's Night Out (Friday, Sept. 18th), when the Christmas Shop officially opens.
