A Weekend At Oma's & Granddad's
I had something totally different in mind to write about this week and then my grandson Aaron came to spend the night. I saw the other day on Facebook a quote that says it all: "Something magical happens when parents turn into grandparents." No truer words were ever said.
At 3 years old, Aaron is everywhere. I called him our little torpedo and he informed me: "I'm not little and I am not a torpedo!! I am Aaron!!"
I think yesterday, (Saturday) alone I took over 100 photos and this morning is no different. Awake and dressed and ready to rock and roll with Granddad, Aaron was out feeding the chickens and doing all the chores which included sweeping the garage, picking up branches, checking on the bluebird eggs, and of course riding the big tractor.
One of the best things that happened yesterday was when he discovered the old tree that his Mommy and Uncle Steven use to play on. My husband said when he and his brother were little that the tree was not big enough for them to play on... Aaron said: "He must really be old." Where does he get stuff like that? This tree just goes to show what I mentioned a few weeks ago: the best time to plant a tree was 50 years ago, the second best time is today.
We love watching Aaron explore the same places his Mommy did when she was growing up. Late Sunday afternoon when his parents came to pick him up, the silence was not golden. After he left we spent time reflecting on what we did and just how smart Aaron is and my what an imagination he has. I mean, seriously, I don't think anyone has a grandchild as smart as ours. Except maybe yours. Life Is Grand :)
