"Powerful Plants" At Behnke's... Another New Item
 Imagine coming to Behnke's with your children and seeing the cute figures to the left on packs of seeds! And, if you upload the smart phone app, they talk to you right from your smart phone! (I recommend uploading their app from home since our garden center does not offer WiFi.) After you get here and find the seeds, watch your kids' faces as they see the veggies start moving around on your phone. Amazing! When I first saw this product last Summer, it was just going into production. So, while I was at the America's Mart in Atlanta (can you tell I had lots of fun there?), I decided to try it after Al Benner, the owner, told me more about how he came up with this new way to get our kids' attention.
Al has 8 year old twins and a farm in Northeastern PA called,
For the past 5 years he and his boys have been raising a wide selection of vegetables, bees, fruit trees, free range poultry and Icelandic sheep! He wanted to get his boys interested in gardening and to eat healthy, which is how this new product "Powerful Plants" came to be. I already showed my grandson how the characters in the book and on the seed packs come to life when viewed with a smart phone. At almost 3, Aaron was full of laughter and giggles watching a carrot sing and dance. The best thing was when he said to me: "Oma, Lucy really likes carrots!" Lucy is his dog, but still it's a start.
