Battle of the Books Starts
Thursday, June 30th 5-7pm

Do you like to read, show off your literary talents, enjoy a little competition with friends? Well, then... join the Battle of the Books Team this summer!

The Mid-Hudson Library System's 12th annual Battle of the Books, a nationally recognized literature contest, begins on June 30th. Read great books and meet with coaches every Thurs. from 5-7 pm to learn book-trivia, enjoy pizza and snacks, and participate in book-related activities. You will compete in mini-battles, based on the books you've read, with local libraries in August. The library will supply the books in July, however, if you'd like to start reading sooner, see Ginny.

An All-Star Team will be formed to compete on Sept. 17th against twenty-four other library teams to Battle it out for the Regional Championship.
(The Beacon Bees were the 2010, 2013, & 2015 Regional Champions!)
Students may sign-up by seeing or contacting Ginny Figlia, Youth Services Librarian: 845-831-1134, x.103 or .
