New Collaboration with
The Beacon Historical Society

The Beacon Historical Society and the library have teamed up to present monthly exhibits exploring the history of Beacon.  The displays will feature historical objects from the collections of both the library and the historical society. This first exhibit, Historical Connections, celebrates National Library Week. A spectacular collection of historical documents, photographs, and vintage artifacts on the history of the Howland Public Library will be on display near the front desk through the end of April. Learn about the history of the library when it was established in 1872 by General Joseph Howland. Come see a photograph of the old Fishman's Department Store, the library's present location, and much more! Stay tuned for news about future displays curated by the Beacon Historical Society.
