Super Hero
Cereal Box Collage Workshop
for ages 5 & up.
Tuesday, August 11th 3-5pm

New York POP Artist, Michael Albert, will conduct a unique hands-on, recycled collage workshop consisting of cereal box art and your favorite super heroes. Participants will learn about Albert's art and his book, and be able to view a small exhibition of his posters.

Hero Academy Thursdays

Check out HPL's calendar for exciting Hero Academy Programs for children grade K-6th every Thursday  through August 13th.

Unstung Heroes

Come find out what all the buzz is about! Bee expert, Tim Stanley, will teach children why our native bees are "unstung" heroes using bee activities and the story of the Queen Bumble Bee's journey through the year.
Super Hero Story/Craft Time

Heroes will be the theme of the day for children ages 3-6 during this story, music, and arts & crafts time. Friday, August 14th,  10:45 am - 11:45 am.

Superehero/Heroine Mini-Camp

Lego fans ages 5 and up are summoned to the Batcave! Create you own Lego superhero or design your own car. Have a blast as you create your own fantasy world of superheros and characters.

INTO THE DANGEROUS WORLD
BOOK LAUNCH PARTY
 
August 22nd, 1-3pm

Join local author, Julie Chibbaro, at her book launch event to celebrate the release of her new Young Adult book, Into the Dangerous World. A unique novel with graphics, the book is already garnering rave reviews, including a Publishers Weekly starred review.

  

The event will include time period refreshments and a 1980's Dance Party. T-shirts and copies of the book will be available for purchase, along with signing opportunities with the author, Julie Chibbaro, and illustrator, JM Superville Sovak.
