Adult Summer Reading Program Kicks Off July 8th!

Stop by all day long to learn details of the Howland Public Library's 8th annual four-week program and pick up information about our special programs. This year's national theme for adults is "Escape the Ordinary." Kickoff fun includes refreshments and a fantastic giveaway!

African Culture Presentation
July 8th,  2-3pm
Adult Summer Reading Program

Join Rita Kabali Wagener, a native of Uganda, as she talks about African cultures, visual arts, crafts and music. An interactive and fun program. Play a drum, see and feel African fabrics, and even dance!  Ms. Kabali Wagener will also describe her unique culture shock as she moved from Africa to Alaska.

Science is always fun and highly interactive with this cool show.



Super Hero Story Craft Time

Heroes will be the theme of the day for children ages 3-6 during this story, music, and arts & crafts time. Every Friday 10:45 am - 11:45 am, July 10th - August 14th.

Art Exhibit Opening July 11th

HPL is pleased to host Art Works II,  An exhibition of work created by adult artists in Anderson Center for Autism's Expressive Outcomes program. Art Works II  will be on display at the Howland Public Library from July 11th - August 2nd.  A Second Saturday artists' reception will he held on July 11th from 5-7.
