Election Results!
Thank you, Beacon City School District residents, for your support! On April 30th, the Library Budget Referendum and Trustee Elections was held. The 2015-2016 Library Budget was approved! Congratulations to the newly elected trustees. Thomas Rigney and Karen Twohig were elected to the Board of Trustees for 5 year terms and Randy Lashua and Rajene Hardeman were elected for 1 year terms.   




Scenes of the Valley, Rafael Quirindongo, Artist Reception Saturday, May 9th



Please join us for the artist reception for Rafael Quirindongo's Scenes of the Valley.
The exhibition will be on view in the Community Room Exhibit Space May 9th - June 14th. A Second Saturday Artist's Reception will be held on May 9th from 5pm - 7pm.

The Community Room Exhibit Space is open during regular library hours. Please note
the gallery may not be accessible during some library programs.

puzzle of book covers in honor of National Library Week.

Hello Beacon 2163 Time Capsule Unveiling

Please join Mayor Randy Casale, City Councilpersons Peggy Ross and George Mansfield, and artist Jill Reynolds at the Howland Public Library, 313 Main Street, for the unveiling of HELLO BEACON 2163, a unique time capsule project for the city of Beacon, to be held on the day after Beacon's 102nd Anniversary, Saturday, May 16, at 1:30pm.

HELLO BEACON 2163 was proposed by Beacon resident Jill Reynolds, a nationally-recognized artist best known for her work in glass. The project was selected to receive support from Arts Mid-Hudson, with funds made available through the Decentralization Program of the NY State Council on the Arts.  The time capsule will be on public display at the Howland Public Library. On May 15, 2163, it will be opened as part of the 250th Anniversary celebration of the City of Beacon.
