It's Time for Food for Fines!
From November 15th until December 30th, HPL will accept food in lieu of fines on overdue library materials. Donations of nonperishable goods, such as canned tuna and bags of rice, will be accepted as payment of fines owed on Howland Public Library books, CDs, DVDs, and other items. This year, HPL is working with I Am Beacon to reach our neighbors in need. Food for Fines doesn't apply to fees for lost or damaged materials or for long-overdue items from other libraries. HPL can't accept homemade food, no matter how delicious. Return overdue HPL materials with nonperishable goods this holiday season. There's no limit on the number of items you can donate. Fine free? Your donations are good here, too. Everyone is encouraged to give as much as possible.
Help your neighbors. Help yourselves. Happy holidays from all of us at the Howland Public Library!
