Last month the Southeastern Synod announced its exciting plans to move to new dedicated office space at St. John's, Atlanta! These plans include an addition plus a build-out of current space within the church building. The new addition will be called the Troutman-Gordy Atrium in honor of former LCA Southeastern Synod bishop Gerald S. Troutman and current ELCA Southeastern Synod bishop H. Julian Gordy.
This Southeastern Synod and St. John's partnership, which we are calling A Living Lutheran Legacy, will mean significant savings on rent and parking for the Southeastern Synod. This savings will mean more mission support to fund ministry throughout our four state synod.
Thanks to the generosity of individuals and congregations, we have raised $95,000 in gifts and pledges to date! We have also received a gift of $100,000 by an anonymous donor who is seeking a donor match. Thank you to all who have given generously to help us create a Living Lutheran Legacy! This move would not be possible without your support.
If you have not yet given a gift or made a pledge, please consider doing so as you plan your end-of-year giving. You can give online here, or you can mail a check to the Southeastern Synod office at the Edgewood Avenue address provided below. You can also email a pledge of support to Holly Liersch. Pledges can be given over five years.
We are well on our way to our goal to raise $450,000 in gifts and pledges!
