University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama.
We are so excited about our new campus. It's perfect for Affirm! We realize that the college might be farther away from your church. Please begin conversations with congregations near you about coordinating travel together to Affirm 2017!

2017 Affirm Staff Application
|
Affirm is the Southeastern Synod's Leadership and Discipleship Summer Event for Youth. It will be held June 18-23, 2017 at the University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama.
Affirm has 10 different learning tracks called units that are made up of large and small groups. The units are age appropriate for 6-12th grades and college freshman and sophomores. Each unit has a specific topic where youth will be equipped in topics like theology, science and faith, youth ministry training, serving like Jesus, leadership training, worship leadership and so much more.
W
e need approximately 80 staff to be small group leaders at this event.
If this sounds exciting to you and you'd like to be apart of sharing your faith with 300 youth from our synod, please apply to be on the Affirm 2017 Staff. Staff will be chosen the first weekend in
January. You'll be notified by February 15 and then we ask that you complete the Safe Gatherings training and a background check if you haven't already done so. You are also required to attend the Staff Training Weekend June 16-18 at UWA (right before Affirm). There is no cost for you to be on staff.
Please forward this information on to folks in your congregation who you'd recommend to be on staff.

2017 All Georgia Youth Gathering

Registration is Open for the 2016 All-Georgia Youth Gathering!
|
SESLYO Assembly 2017 Registration is now Open!
March 3-5
Clyde York 4-H Center, Crossville, TN
Each Congregation is encouraged to send 2 voting delegate to the Assembly.
We will be electing new board positions for the executive board and conference representatives along with a Youth Synod Council Representative. Our theme is Here We Stand!  Youth led workshops will be on Faith, Grace, Community, and Peace Come Stand with other Youth Leaders from across our Synod!

All-Tennessee was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tullahoma, TN! Thank you so much to the folks at Trinity for hosting over 100 youth from all across Tennessee and even 2 congregations from Georgia! We had a blast! As part of SESLYO Theme, Here We Stand, in our community. Youth learned about what folks in Tullahoma as well as across the world are doing to help others in their communities. Pastor Kevin Martin led the youth on a discussion of Lutheranism 101! And Seminarian Christopher Smith led us in worship and song! We even did a Mannequin Challenge.
