Tollway Board to Consider Rt. 53 Project
On Thursday, June 28, the Lake County Tollway Board will consider the Illinois Route 53/120 Blue Ribbon Advisory Council's recommendation to move forward with the Illinois Route 53/120 Corridor project in Lake County. The council's report outlines a project that protects environmental concerns while creating a 'modern parkway' envisioned for the region. The council was co-chaired by myself and George Ranney, President and CEO of Metropolis Strategies. The recommendations reflect the will of the diverse group of people including local elected officials, transportation and planning agencies and environmental, civic, business and labor representatives. If this project is important to you, please attend the Illinois Tollway Board meeting on June 28 and share your comments.
Meeting time and location:
June 28, at 9 a.m.
Illinois Tollway Central Administration Building
2700 Ogden Avenue, Downers Grove
In this edition of County Update, Council Co-Chairs George Ranney and I discuss the process for developing the report, the specific recommendations, and next steps. Watch now: (25 minutes)

For nuisance violations in unincorporated Lake County, such as tall grass and weeds, junk and debris, animals running at large, noise complaints and minor health violations, there is a new Code Enforcement Hearing process for resolving these cases quickly.
