Dear Parents and Guardians,

On Sunday, May 1, I personally inspected the middle school locker rooms and bathrooms, lower level hallways, gymnasium, and classroom areas to ensure that our middle school is free of bleach odors and ready to accept students and staff on Monday.

Dr. Bronstein and the custodial staff have ensured that all areas affected have been thoroughly addressed. Fresh air intakes and exhausts have brought outside air into the locker rooms and bathrooms, doors and windows were opened and fans utilized to ensure that any odors have dissipated and the areas are odor free.

In addition, I have contacted a professional safety and environmental agency to visit the middle school to assess the affected areas to confirm the district's evaluation and the measures that we enacted to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.

This situation was the result of a member of the staff working conscientiously to clean bathrooms in a manner that was thought to be thorough. Information regarding approved products used in our schools has been provided to staff and reviewed by the facilities office to ensure proper materials are utilized.

As always, the safety of our students and staff remains a priority. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Regards,

Sue
