Dear Parents and the Community,

What can the Mount Pleasant Central School District and our community be doing to properly prepare our students to succeed in the 21st century?

To answer this question, the Mount Pleasant school board is asking key stakeholders in our education process including students, parents, teachers, administrators and community leaders to join us in one of two special screenings of the award-winning film "Most Likely to Succeed" on Wednesday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 30 at 10 a.m. in the Westlake auditorium.

After each screening, we will conduct an open dialog on "the art of the possible " of what we can be doing to better address the needs of our students to be able to compete in the 21st century. The ideas and materials generated from this session will help the superintendent and school board in the preparation and adoption of a strategic plan.

About the film
"Most Likely to Succeed" is a highly acclaimed feature-length (90 min.) documentary that examines the history of education in the United States, revealing the growing shortcomings of conventional education methods in today's innovative world. The film explores compelling new approaches that aim to revolutionize teaching as we know it. After seeing this film, the way you think about "school" will never be the same.

We are asking all residents to please join us for what could be the most important two hours of our students' future.
