Dear Parents and our Community,

Happy 2015 and best wishes for a fabulous year!

As we begin this new year, there will be some exciting "makeovers" coming our way.

During the upcoming months, the Special Education Office will be moving to its new home in Westlake High School and will be located in the former professional library. Our Director of Special Education, Robin Tepper, along with her team, will be part of the daily life of the students and staff at the Westlake campus with better access to students, classroom instruction, teachers and staff. The transition will take place this winter as renovations are completed.

It won't be "extreme," but it will be a makeover. The high school guidance area will receive a much-needed facelift to better serve our students, staff and those important visiting college representatives. It is essential to welcome these representatives in a space that mirrors the success of our students. In addition, a larger conference space will be created in the high school office to accommodate the growing needs of Westlake. Thank you to our Director of Facilities Ed Kear and Principal Keith Schenker for their efforts in making this happen.

Finally, we are putting the finishing touches on our new web presence and plan to launch the new sites when school resumes on January 5.

The new Mount Pleasant sites will have easy-to-find:
   * 'Quick Links' to most visited pages
   * Principal/Superintendent news
   * Important dates and school announcements.

The main visual area will showcase the great things going on in our classrooms and schools. This new layout will make all information easily accessible and will also be "mobile responsive" to adapt to all types of devices. We will continue to add information on an ongoing basis to make the sites reflect the transformative work that is happening in our district.

I wish you a restful weekend and look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday.

Best,
Sue
