August 22-September 10 - SBIR Training: Online

This online six-session SBIR training course includes steps through the SBIR process, ending with elements of an effective pitch. 

September 5-6 - Governor's Conference on Economic Development: Kansas City

The annual Governor's Conference on Economic Development, to be held Sept. 5-6 at the Sheraton Kansas City-Crown Center, features nine concurrent sessions and keynote speaker Austan Goolsbee, named one of six "Gurus of the Future."

September 16-18 - Missouri Recycling Association Conference: Jefferson City

MORA Annual Conference The 16th annual Missouri Recycling Association Conference offers sessions on recycling and composting, social marketing, green business practices, storm debris management, construction and debris, pertinent legislation and more, with behind-the-scenes sustainability tours of Lincoln University and the old Missouri State Penitentiary.

September 19 - Women's Leadership Conference: Joplin

Bloch School of Management hosts the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers' annual conference Oct. 24-26 to share university-based entrepreneurship centers' best practices and drive Kansas City's goal of being the most entrepreneurial city in the world.

From 2010 through 2012, the Missouri Small Business & Technology Development Centers and Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers assisted clients in creating $2.5 billion in economic impact, including creating or retaining 32,961 jobs, increasing sales by $986 million, acquiring investments of $649.1 million, winning government contracts of $857.4 million and obtaining research awards of $20.1 million.
