President's Perspective
Dear Foundation Friends,

It is hard to believe another year has gone by. We look back on 2015 with pride in our efforts to raise funds that support Pearland ISD teachers and their innovative teaching ideas.

This year, we had a successful Founder's Campaign Drive, increased employee giving through payroll deduction, and recently held our second annual Grown-up Spelling Bee. In May, we funded 47 grant projects, totaling $39,022.85 in awards.

We now look forward to 2016 with newly-elected board directors, annual giving campaign kick-off, and excitement about our inaugural gala to be held on March 5, 2016 at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and thank you for your partnership in helping us to enrich teaching and inspire learning in Pearland ISD.

Sincerely,
Jeff Barry
Board President

We are excited to kick-off  the 2016 Annual Giving Campaign, which will culminate with our inaugural gala.

With your support, the lives of both educators and students can be infinitely enriched.

On March 5, 2016, we will host An Evening for Education: Innovation in Flight. Join us on our high-flying adventure at the 1940 Air Terminal Museum as we travel back in time to the Flying Forties and celebrate the future of education.

FOUNDATION TALK
Grown-up Bee: A buzzing success!
Our second annual Grown-up Spelling Bee was a buzzing success with over $40,000 raised for the Education Foundation.

Twenty teams competed in this zany-twist on a traditional spelling bee with the championship title of Best Spellers in Pearland going to "Old Men and the Bee," a team of dads representing Dawson High School. Best costume went to "The Rat Pack," a team from Memorial Hermann.

Welcome New Board Directors
The Foundation welcomed 10 new board directors at the Annual Meeting held on November 18:

Preston Bullard, Sandy Cavazos, Mario Garner, Susan Lenamon, Suzanne Murray, Ozzie Ramirez, James Schleider, Linda Talbot, Kathye Warfield, and Angela Wells

Foundation board directors volunteer their time in support of our mission to inspire learning and enrich teaching for students
and teachers in Pearland ISD.
