Welcome to the newest edition of the Cornerstones enewsletter. The BACnet International community benefits from information and education shared through Cornerstones, the organization's monthly electronic publication. This publication is disseminated to members of the BACnet community, connecting corporate, integrator, site, student and individual end users.
Cornerstones is a unique publication because it speaks not only to the engineer and contractor communities, but also to facility professionals, building managers and owners, and other personnel.

|
Moorhead Public Schools Moorhead, MN
The Moorhead Public Schools project was a retrofit of four elementary school buildings in the district, ranging from 70,000 sq ft to 104,000 sq ft, with up to two levels each.
The District required universal and remote control over all of their locations, for monitoring and efficiency purposes. Distech Controls EC-NetAX Web-based building management platform was used to achieve multi-site integration and for the ability to integrate with existing control and terminal equipment, helping the District to respect their retrofit budgets.
BACnet ECB Series controllers and Allure EC-Smart-Vue communicating sensors, delivering increased comfort control and energy efficiency.
The District now has a majority of its schools networked together via EC-NetAX, a single, unified interface and system, for efficiency in operations and monitoring, and additional operational cost savings.

More European-based Options for BACnet Product Testing
The iHomeLab of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Lucerne, Switzerland, and DIAL's DAkkS accredited testing center in Ldenscheid, Germany, have recently achieved formal recognition as BACnet test organizations.
iHomeLab and DIAL join two existing test organizations in providing BACnet conformance testing in accordance with the relevant test policies and requirements.
All tests at these four labs are performed in accordance with the ISO 16484-6 test standard or ANSI/ASHRAE 135.1 and BTL test plans. Products are required tosuccessfully pass the rigorous testing process at one of these organizations in order to display the BTL Mark.
BTL testing can help suppliers find issues that could create interoperability problems in the field. The early identification of conformance issues through testing benefits manufacturers through lower life-cycle costs and increased customer satisfaction.
