| Ivy Tech Community College, Warsaw Warsaw, Indiana, United States
Ivy Tech Community College is the largest community college in the United States. In Indiana alone, it serves more than 130,000 enrolled students and 240,000 individuals each year. Ivy Tech's North-Central region in Indiana has experienced significant growth in recent years and has undertaken expansion initiatives in the South Bend, Elkhart, and Warsaw markets. While Ivy Tech has had a presence in Warsaw since 1978, the college has relied on lease agreements to house its services until recently.
Freshly commissioned on August 18, 2011, Ivy Tech's newest building in Warsaw is a visually appealing site. Resting on 33 acres of gently sloping native grass fields and 7 acres of wooded property, the 46,000 square foot facility's proximity to several high-tech medical device manufacturers makes Ivy Tech Warsaw a hot property in a rapidly-developing locale. The $11,000,000 project building, located at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Silveus Crossing, is in the final stages of obtaining LEED certification; an Indiana requirement for all new Ivy Tech locations in the state.

Continental Control Systems announced that its WattNode® BACnet® meter has received BACnet Testing Laboratory (BTL) certification. The meter has passed a series of rigorous tests conducted by an official BTL facility, earning the right to display the BTL Mark.
BACnet, a data communication protocol for building automation and control networks, is an American national standard, a European standard, a national standard in more than 30 countries, and an ISO global standard. For automation and control system designers, the BTL Mark on a product signifies that it is fully compliant with BTL's demanding performance standards and that it correctly implements the BACnet features claimed in its BTL listing.
"As part of the BACnet community, we're very excited for what this means for our customers," said Cynthia A. Boyd, director of sales for Continental Control Systems. "When utilizing our WattNode meter, they can be confident that it has been held up to the very highest standard and will deliver exceptional performance for their automation and control systems."

HTML5 Enhances Building Automation and Energy Control for Facility Managers Facility Managers face several challenges, including finding a Building Automation System that is not only easy to implement and use, but one that also cuts down on energy consumption. A technological innovator in the BAS marketplace, American Auto-Matrix releases the latest installment of their web-enabled Building Automation and Energy Control Solution, AspectFT today. AspectFT v2.0 was designed to make Building Automation simple for Facility Managers, integrating building control with everyday technology such as Twitter®, RSS, email, Google Calendar™, Microsoft® Outlook® and Apple® iCAL®. With version 2.0, American Auto-Matrix has again raised the technological bar, incorporating HTML5 into their already robust system.
HTML5 allows users to access and alter information from the most popular web-enabled devices, with no additional plug-ins or engineering time. Tablets and smart phones from Apple® and Android™ can be used to view and add information such as trends and setpoints on the fly. This advanced engineering allows Facility Managers even more flexibility when it comes to energy control and monitoring. "When we look at developing a product, we take several factors into consideration, including how we can make the product more efficient for the customer. Implementing HTML5 was an obvious choice with the flexibility it gave the end users." states Rocky Moore, Director of Business Development. "HTML5 allows Facility Managers to access and alter their BAS from the most popular web-enabled devices and get trending on the fly, making energy control easier than ever." Delta Controls Introduces the enteliBUS Manager with Increased Networking and BBMD Capabilities Any BACnet network being currently installed faces the issue of growing throughput requirements. Increased integration of our BAS and EMS worlds places more stress on information management infrastructure. Owners expect more data from their buildings, starting with the requirements of fault detection and failure tracking to the heavy data requirements of up to the date energy usage statistics. RS-485, a network standard established in 1983 has evolved into EIA-485 and TIA-485. The evolution of a two wire network has failed to keep up entirely with growing BACnet system requirements from building owners and operators. The logging requirements of yesterday's building specs drove the need for an Ethernet backbone to facilitate the majority of data throughput. Only a few manufacturers are paying attention to the necessity of affordable application level controllers that exist in a flat architecture on an Ethernet network, even fewer manufacturers are paying attention to the growing need of system engines to manage the throughput of all that new data potential. Delta Controls has produced the enteliBUS Manager, an addition to the enteliBUS lineup of controllers. We've also taken Ethernet and Power over Ethernet to the application level with our DAC-E and DVC-E lineup of controllers. This has drastically increased potential data aggregation at the system level. With a processer many times faster than our previous controllers we have responded to the growing needs of building network infrastructure. In North America, system level controllers and Ethernet networks are commonly expected to handle the aggregated data of the network coming from finer RS-485 networks distributed out in the field. The needs of larger networks are actually what started the design behind enteliBUS and its flexible lineup of I/O modules. Please click here for more information about the enteliBUS Manager. -------------------------------
