| Grand Traverse Pavilions Grand Traverse County, Michigan, United States
In 1999, Grand Traverse County in northern Michigan added a key component to its historic Grand Traverse Commons campus: the Grand Traverse Pavilions. The campus is unique in and of itself; it is home to several historic buildings on the former grounds of the Traverse City State Hospital, Northern Michigan Asylum, and Grand Traverse Medical Care. The latest addition provides state-of-the-art housing and rehabilitation facilities built around 19th-century architectural themes to compliment the surrounding scenery. Home to more than 300 residents, the Pavilions is owned by Grand Traverse County and operated by the Grand Traverse County Department of Human Services Board. The organization provides a continuum of community-based senior and intergenerational residential care offering a variety of adult respite services and supported and assisted-living areas. The facility employs a highly-skilled long-term nursing team specializing in Alzheimer's and dementia care.

Click here for more information on Blue Ridge TechnologiesBlue Ridge Technologies Expands Unified Lighting Control Most advanced lighting control systems available in the market today are proprietary and require gateways which inherently limit the Building Automation Systems (BAS) capabilities. Blue Ridge Technologies, the leading manufacturer of unified lighting control, announced the expansion of open and unified lighting control with the release of the Aperio platform. The Aperio platform enables more advanced lighting control applications (daylight harvesting, occupancy / vacancy detection, dimming, and presets) to become an integral part of the BAS without gateways. "We know that building owners benefit from non-proprietary control systems, and we continue to advocate for open lighting control systems and tighter integration with the BAS," said Steve Pachal, Director of Technology at Blue Ridge Technologies. "We design and develop open lighting control solutions that are easily unified with existing building infrastructure to lower costs and maximize energy savings and comfort."
The Aperio platform is the company's seventh generation lighting controller, and it will be rolled out over the next several months to a nationwide network of over 100 dealers. The Aperio platform will be featured in selected Blue Ridge Technologies products including; Relay Panels (RP), Retrofit Interiors (RI), Retrofit Kits (RK), and Zone Controllers (ZC).

AQUAZONE™ W2W WSHPs Now Offer i-Vu Controls
Carrier's Aquazone™ water-to-water water source heat pumps with Puron refrigerant (R-410A), now support i-Vu controls as a factory installed option. The new native BACnet controller is designed to heat or cool the load water as required, and will maintain the leaving water or entering water at the control setpoint. Each controller will support up to 4 stages of capacity and up to 3 compressor stages (with compressor status feedback). For larger installations, a total of up to 8 stages may be controlled as a single heating or cooling source. One controller will operate as the master, coordinating others in the system. Innovative features will include outside air temperature monitoring, space temperature sensing, and network communications for heating and cooling mode control. Demand limiting will also be included to support energy savings. And, as always, the integrated controller will feature plug-and-play connectivity to the i-Vu System. For added flexibility, the i-Vu controller will also support stand-alone operation. Or, it can be integrated with any Building Automation System using the BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, or N2 protocols.
