New Visions, Smart Choices - Western Water Security in a Changing Climate
|
Dear ,
Around the American West water is scarce, and getting scarcer, as climate change hits home. In response, many innovative communities are developing cutting-edge water solutions to help ensure safe, clean supplies for generations to come.
Our report, released last month, highlights ten of these success stories and features real-world solutions. New Visions, Smart Choices: Western Water Security in a Changing Climate, tells the stories of these communities, and their no-regrets strategies to build resiliency into their water systems.
In this issue of Confluence, we're joined by Scott Miller, head of Resource Media, and John Fleck, water writer with the Albuquerque Journal. Read on for their perspectives on why storytelling is so important and, if you haven't already, check out our new report. We hope you'll be inspired to create and share your own stories of success.

"We need the stories - to help us grasp the problems but more importantly to visualize the fact that there are solutions out there."
John Fleck is a journalist at the Albuquerque Journal, where he writes about water in the American West. He's currently working on a book examining the west's water problems, focused on the solution space.
