A study published in the journal Health Psychology found that people who feel older than their age are 10% to 25% more likely to be hospitalized within two to 10 years. "Individuals with an older subjective age are more likely to be sedentary and to experience faster cognitive decline, all of which may precipitate a hospital stay," said researcher Antonio Terracciano of Florida State University.
