u.s., nev. join lawsuit against hospice accused of fraud
|
The state of Nevada, along with the U.S. government, joined a whistleblower lawsuit against Creekside Hospice II, a for-profit hospice in Las Vegas; its holding company, Skilled Healthcare Group; and its administrative services provider, Skilled Healthcare. The three firms are accused of submitting fraudulent Medicare and Medicaid claims for hospice care for patients who were ineligible for the services because they were not terminally ill, the lawsuit says. The hospice received more than $70 million worth of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements between April 2010 and March 2013, said a lawyer representing the whistleblowers.
