Rachel was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY and is therefore definitely considered a local product. Rachel studied Linguistics at Syracuse University and furthered her studies abroad at Boğazii University in Istanbul, Turkey. Upon returning to Syracuse, Rachel worked in the restaurant business and then, luckily for the Co-op, found her way to the Syracuse Real Food Co-op. She has been involved with the Syracuse Peace Council for a few years and will be returning to the Steering Committee in January. As Grocery Lead, Rachel hopes to provide products that
will reflect members' wants and needs. She is looking forward to working with our local business contacts and intends to develop a special ordering process that is easy and effective for all concerned.
Gabriel on the other hand comes to the Co-op via Springfield, Missouri; Portland, Oregon; Buffalo, New York and now Syracuse, New York picking up some great grocery experience along the way. Gabriel is definitely a national product but is locally engaged in graduate studies at SUNY ESF. He has enjoyed working with the Co-op Staff over the last year and a half and is looking forward to working with Rachel to lead the direction of the grocery department. Together they want to create a dynamic, welcoming store set by maintaining the standard of excellence to which our members have become accustomed and also introducing some innovative new products for your shopping pleasure.

Snowspun Snow Remedy is at the top of Adria's list for cracked or chapped hands. Adria says, "This product works for me and was developed by a Vermont Ski Instructor. It smells great, it's organic and you can put it on your lips or on your cuticles, but NOT in your eyes!!! You can even apply with your winter coat on like I do. Next time you're in, try some Snow Remedy from our tester." |
