TAKE YOUR PICK. CROOKED CARROT OR HEMP"
Merchandising Manager, Alex Farewell-Prisaznuk, Couldn't Decide What His Topic Would Be This Week, Crooked Carrot Or Hemp. Hey! Why Not Both!

Crooked Carrot Tasting On Saturday, June 7 From 12:00 Noon To 4:00 PM At The Co-op
Crooked Carrot
Farm & Kitchen

Crooked Carrot is based at Stick and Stone Farm, part of the Full Plate Farm Collective. They offer a variety of healthful, locally-sourced sauces, dressings, soups, broths, dips, prepared beans, live-culture pickles, and more. They combine inspiration drawn from whole, fresh ingredients with food traditions from around the world to make nourishing food that makes creating a healthy meal at home quick and easy!

At Crooked Carrot, they believe that great food not only tastes fantastic, but also supports personal, community and ecological health in the bio-region in which it was produced. Their hand-packed, live culture pickles are made with traditional fermentation techniques using fresh ingredients from their organic farm and the strong community of growers within 30 miles of their kitchen. They encourage you to open a jar with friends and family.

Check out Alex's picks (below) for Crooked Carrot offerings in the Co-op's cooler section and get a taste before you buy on this Saturday.

Thomas Jefferson once said, "Hemp is of greatest importance to our nation." Boy, did he have the long view. Today, the U.S. hemp industry has estimated annual retail sales of $500 million dollars. Yet the crop that was planted by the nation's founding fathers, and is today a rising star in healthful living, is currently prohibited from being grown on U.S. farms.       DID YOU KNOW?

Now in its fifth year, Hemp History Week is a nation-wide education campaign and marketing program that seeks to renew strong support for hemp farming in the U.S. while raising awareness about the benefits of hemp products. The 5th Annual campaign will include grass-roots events across the country, nationwide retail promotions, and a national restaurant program.
