TAP, TAP, TAP! WHO'S THERE?

It's Jeremy Dechario, Brau Meister, Of The Syracuse Real Food Co-op. And Why Is He Tap, Tap, Tapping? So He Can Fill Your Beer Growlers With Great Selections

In April Of 2012, Bottles Of Beer Were The Only Way
|
To the left you can see back in April of 2012 showing his beer wares in bottles. At that time he was pretty one dimensional. But he had a plan "brewing" to become multidimensional. The equipment had been ordered and permits applied for the Syracuse Real Food Co-op to be able to supply beer on tap for growlers.

May 2nd Of 2012, Who's Under That Bag?
|
On May 2nd 2012 we asked the question of "who's under the bag?" at our store front as shown at right. The preparation for the space needed, placement configuration and training of Staff for selling and filling beer growlers was almost
completed. Now the fun would begin.

May 3rd 2012, It's Out Of The Bag! Jeremy Tries The New Taps
|
seemed to be the one having the most fun on the next day, May 3rd, as he gives a pull to the tap handle and pours a 64 ounce growler full of beer. There have been a lot of tap handle pulls since that time as folks filling their growlers has become a regular
occurrence at the Co-op. Part of the reason is the convenience of having cold beer on hand in your fridge in draft form and the other part is the great selection of beers and ales, not to mention hard ciders from Harvest Moon Cidery, that Jeremy researches and secures for your drinking pleasure.

May 10th 2012 Jeremy Conducts The Co-op's First Growler Tasting
|
Not long after we were up and running with our growler system in place Jeremy put together a tasting as shown at right. As the night wore on many Co-op customers got to taste the great flavor and freshness of a newly poured growler and from the comments received liked what they were tasting. As more people became aware of our Growler filling abilities and
the great variety of our "tappenings" the word started to spread that we were the place to come to fill your growler.

Speaking of growlers, check out the newly designed SRFC growler for $6.00 available at the Co-op. You can see below, under Jeremy's picks, the selections we currently have on tap, but don't delay if you see one you like as they change frequently when a keg runs out. If you are a beer/cider drinker and you haven't joined the growler craze, stop in to the Co-op and talk to Jeremy or one of our informed cashiers about what selection is right for your taste. Also, don't forget we have many of your favorite bottled selections available for purchase.
