Whether you will be watching Super Bowl XLVII on February 3rd or just enjoying a Sunday

SF 49ers Logo
The San Francisco 49ers

afternoon in snowy Syracuse, the Co-op Staff has prepared scrumptious menu suggestions for you to enjoy. And the best news of all is that they will be Real Food choices!

It doesn't matter if your coach of choice is John Harbaugh or Jim Harbaugh; your choice of quarterback is Joe Flacco or Colin Kaepernick; or you wish you were in New Orleans watching the game, the choices below will help you have enough energy to withstand the pressure. Linda & Alex in the grocery department are kicking off with the following Super Bowl deals available from January 30th to February 12th:

Scott At Work
Scott Gets Your Deli Stocked

Basil Cheese Curds, Brie D'Amir for baking or just serve at room temperature, Karen Sister's Vegan Dumplings, Brooklyn Brine Bulk Pickles (NY Deli Style) or last but not least you can get out your bread knife and carve up a variety of Scott's delicious Sandwiches into bite size pieces to serve on a sandwich platter.

Chris will be coaching the Co-op produce team and sending in some great plays. She is recruiting extra players for the Super Bowl event, which will arrive on or before Thursday, January 31st. They are avocados, onions, garlic and more. She says, "Make sure to come by the Co-op to buy your guacamole "fix-in's!" Here are some of the great plays she'll be using (keep these under your helmet):

Super Bowl Guacamole End Around Play
3 ripe avocados, peeled and mashed

Gaucamole
Guacamole Dip

1/2 onion, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lime, juiced
1/2 jalapeno (optional)
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
In a medium bowl combine mashed avocado and lime juice. Add onion, garlic, tomato, salt and pepper, and jalapeno and cilantro as desired. Serve chilled with your favorite corn chips.

Bacon Jalapeno Popper Pass Play
10 fresh jalapenos
 8 ounces cream cheese
10 pieces thin-sliced bacon, cut in half
Cut jalapenos in half and remove seeds and insides
Fill jalpenos with cream cheese and wrap a slice of bacon around each one.
Hint: Secure with a toothpick.
Bake at 425 degrees until bacon appears to be done, about 15-20 minutes.

We think Jeremy could be rooting for the Baltimore Ravens because he was overheard telling the cashiers that,
"Make sure you don't sell any beer to "miners"!" But Jeremy who is coaching the "couch potatoes", knows how to work both sides of the field. He has put together a massive Super Bowl Sunday array of Craft Beers and Growler Tap Selections for the many TV timeouts that always occur during the big game. So on the Baltimore side of the field he'll have the Stillwater Artisanal Ale Brewery of Baltimore, MD players; State Side Saison & Lower Dens. On the San Francisco side the players are brewed near San Francisco at the Bear Republic Brewery and are; Racer Five & Hop Rod Rye.
