In the three day training, participants will receive an understanding of human trafficking from its history to current day. One will learn about the different types of pimps, predators and types of trafficking as well as types of abuse. There will be specific understanding of trafficking terminology and an overview of the predator, predator mindset, sexual assault along with learning specific skills and tools to help clients with their different recovery issues and victimology.

 

All participants must be affiliated with law enforcement, service providers, prosecutor offices, NGO's / nonprofits, media/journalists, social workers and first responders. Upon confirmation of your registration, you will receive an email with other information about the training.

 

 

Participants will receive:

1- The training workbook

2- Clinical and advocacy tools to be used for each individual or group session;

3- Resources for the various types of human trafficking

4- Assessment tools

5- Other essential paperwork

6- Certificate of completion as a Certified Human Trafficking Advocate

7- CEU's

When a Child Goes Missing...Media Matters
Webinar Description

MECP invites you to participate in its May webinar, entitled When a Child Goes Missing: Media Matters. This webinar will highlight the importance of law enforcement and media partnerships in engaging the public and the recovery of missing children.  This webinar is being hosted by MECP.  Presenters are NWCAVE's Michelle Bart and Natalie Brand.

 

 Participants will: 

  • Recognize opportunities for collaboration with media and non-profit organizations
  • Understand the ongoing epidemic of missing & exploited children and how we must all work together to bring children home.
  • Identify key information media needs from law enforcement, families, and spokespersons of the missing to provide assistance in engaging the public.
