Spotlight on Lynn Duncan

Veteran lamp and shade designer Lynn Duncan has a sense of whimsy and it is expressed in the subject matter for her shades - this summer we are happy to introduce two of her longtime favorites to the website - a world-map shade, and "Forest Ruminants" (!).

Lynn particularly likes this shape of shade because it is adaptable to a number of lighting uses.

You can check out more of Lynn's "worlds" on our website:
owlsbatsmore bats, frogsmore frogs  and trout.

Also, we make standing bridge floor lamp versions of the oxidized table lamp shown above and these shades work beautifully with that size as well.  Actually, we have a number of different styles of bridge lamp in the shop but unfortunately not on our site, yet.

Another reason to visit!

Summer Shades

We have a lively and colorful group of lamps that celebrate the summertime - world maps, the sea, the forests of the Sierras, and the bright light in a "Morning Meadow".

Underwater lamp
"Under the Sea" Lindsay glass lamp with my mica shade features swirling sea forms in blue and turquoise with a touch of deep red.  It is topped with a cobalt glass finial.
morning meadow shade
Carmen's new "Morning Meadow" mica shade is alive with subtle glowing colors, sprinkled with greens and lilacs. Lonesomeville Pottery's "Cedar Waxwings" is an elegant companion.
sierra lights
I love Jack Laws' drawings and am so glad he has agreed to let me use them to create my "Sierra Lights" ceiling shades and sconces.

When you are out exploring this summer come to Solano Avenue!  There are any number of wonderful shops and restaurants.  And by all means, stop by the lamp shop to see these and many more unique and intriguing lamps and shades!

We look forward to seeing you.
