QUEBEC #167 HIGH SUCCESS CARIBOU HUNT
|

2016 Season 98% Successful Harvest for 53 Hunters!!
We warned many of our clients, starting back about 5 or 6 years ago, about the dramatic population down turn that hit the George River herd in Quebec. Outfitters went belly up and hundreds of hunters were left with no recourse for their lost payments and cancelled hunts!
We immediately shifted our bookings to the northern Leaf River herd, with happy results. This outfitter has been involved for over 20 years with guiding, and outfitting caribou in Quebec. He went 52 bulls for 53 hunters in 2016. Plus, and this is important, he is well connected with the Inuit Natives, and has some of the best camps in the area. Understand that much of this whole area is Inuit owned.
If you need this specie of caribou for your slam, (the Quebec/Labrador specie) -or you are just looking for a great caribou hunt, please consider this outfitter. Today you are allowed by law only 1 trophy bull, the other must be a lesser animal such as a cow. But that second tag is only around $200, so might as well take a load of meat home.
Make your commercial airline reservation into Montreal, than you take a jet (yes a jet!) to Kuujjuaq. This makes plane arrivals a virtual certainty. Then, upon your arrival in Kuujjuaq, within an hour you will be met and transferred to a twin Engine Otter wheeled plain that lands on their hard service landing strip. That second flight is about an hour. Importantly these twin engine Otters handle 12 people and gear, and are far more capable of flying in poor weather, then are the single engine Otters with floats. So no getting stuck with no camp to hunt from. Many other area outfitters use the single engines, and clients can lose one to 5 days to weather!
You can also do some fishing for Brook Trout, Lake Trout and Arctic Char when not hunting, although it may be catch and release depending on hunt dates. You can also bird hunt for ptarmigan.
PRICING: The most popular package is the 3 hunters to one guide, @ $7750 per person.
Includes:
- round trip transport to camp and back from Montreal
- bringing back your boxed meat and antlers
- your first license
- all guiding, meals and lodging.
- You can harvest a second caribou for just the licenses fee, but it must be a management caribou by regulations.

WY #235 MULIES, WHITETAIL, ANTELOPE & ELK
|
This outfitter runs a family owned and operated business on some of the finest big game ground in Wyoming. The outfitter hunts his own private ranch and leases consisting of about 75 square miles in northeast Wyoming.
The property is located along the Little Powder River, which boasts one of the biggest herds of non-migratory mule deer in the state. His hunt area also has a lot of mature whitetail deer, and antelope. Drawing tags here for antelope is normally 100% draw, with leftover tags available.
The outfitter oversees every one of his camps. Putting in over 150 days a year in the field, the outfitter knows the ropes and what he expects from his guides and employees. That's why he is so successful. You will come away a better and more knowledgeable hunter. He also offers an excellent 4 day archery hunt for speedy goats. One guy killed in 11 minutes, the other guy in 17 minutes!!
He has somewhere close to 1000 acres of alfalfa in a variety of smaller parcels, so lots of opportunity. He normally expects 100% opportunity with bow at 50 yards or less, on bucks.
It is also possible to do a two antelope buck hunt! There are that many tags and that many antelope. Antelope horn sizes range from 13 to 15 inches with some opportunities at trophy speedy goats up to 16 inches. Deer range from 125- to 185-inches and some Boone & Crockett-class trophies are taken every year. The outfitter just recently started guiding for elk and the prospects for good bulls are very real. There are some 330-inch bulls using the private land the outfitter hunts in Unit 129, which is a general license area.

NB #213 SPRING/FALL BEAR & ATLANTIC SALMON
|
We discovered this outfitter and team back in 2008, and they have proven every year since then to be very successful - and they also are fun people to work with. They have quite a variety, ranging from excellent black bear in Spring and Fall, to Atlantic Salmon fishing (Spring thru Fall), to superb striped bass fishing, to good bird hunting.
As to the bear hunting; these folks have been at or close to 100% for many years! With the new 2014 two bear limit, you can shoot the first good bear you see and then hold out for a bruiser on the second tag. They maintain many bait stations, far more than needed. The main Lodge is practically new, of peeled cedar logs, with a gorgeous stone fireplace. The River is right in front of the Lodge, so a hot shower, and then sitting on the porch with a cold beer is a fine relaxing time! They very rarely have anyone go home without a bear! Bears will average between 5 to 6.5 feet, meaning nice mature bears in the 200 to 250 pound range and some much larger.
Currently, almost one-third of all two-sea-winter Atlantic Salmon (meaning 2 years in salt water) that are migrating to North American rivers- were spawned in the Miramichi River system. Truly, this river is a world treasure, but it gives up its salmon reluctantly. Spring and Fall fishing for salmon is basically fly fishing only- although there is some trout fishing you can do with barbless lures; some early spring fly trolling for anyone to do, and some good striped bass fishing as well. All must be released though. But if you tag your bear early (good chance)- the fishing will keep you busy!
The Lodge is nearly new and sleeps seven. It is a peeled log handsome structure. There is also a cabin and another new facility is now completed that sleeps twelve, so they have a lot of flexibility in terms of larger groups who want to stick together.
2017 PRICES: (OBSERVERS $500)
5 Day One Bear Hunting Trip: SPRING OR FALL $1995
Opportunity to hunt second bear $750 if booked during the hunt.
TWO Bear Hunt $2495 if you book both bears up front saving $250
All hunts include free fishing in the morning as the season provides.
Must buy fishing licenses.
Season
April 18-June 25 (Spring)
Sept. 21-26, (bow or crossbow only)

WY #218 HORSEBACK ELK HUNT- HIGH SUCCESS
|

This hunt is with an outfitter we have worked with repeatedly and takes place off the South East corner of Yellowstone Park.
It is a high success bull elk hunt, over 20 miles into the Wilderness via horses.
He went 16 for 20 in 2014 with the best bull pushing 340".
Here is an October 2016 report just in:
"Butch - we returned last week from this hunt with Outfitter #218 and are providing you with feedback regarding our experience.
In summary - the hunt was truly the experience of a lifetime and a great value for the money. It is a true wilderness horseback (muleback) hunt. The scenery and wilderness experience alone are worth the price of admission. Our guides were experienced, knowledgeable of the area and hard working. They did everything they could to show us the country and find opportunities to kill an elk. The elk were in the rut - so guides were able to call them in and we were able to experience bugling bulls responding to the calls. We connected with 3 bulls - 2 of which were 7 x 6. We could easily have filled all of our tags - but our group was very selective in choosing animals to shoot. The hunt was certainly challenging - but that is what we were looking for."
Best of all, you get to use your rifle during the September Bugle season! Bugling bulls make life exciting -- and up your chances of success greatly. An incredible experience in truly awesome country. You WILL have a once in a lifetime experience that every elk hunter needs to try!
We do not yet have firm pricing for 2017, but because license apps are due by Jan 31, we suggest our clients buy their points right now. If you plan to also purchase the Special price license, you can certainly book the hunt dates right now! We have sent 50 or more clients on this trip! Anticipated Pricing: 7-day hunt including the riding, $5500 for a 2X1 hunt; $6500 for 1X1.

HUNGARY #171 GIANT FALLOW DEER, BOAR & STAG
|
Hungary is about the size of Indiana and borders Austria on the west and Romania on the east. Very fertile rolling plains abound. Both the Danube and Tisza Rivers dominate, splitting the country into 3 parts. The high point is only 2,894 feet.
The biggest Fallow deer, arguably in the world, come from Hungary, including the world record. The forestry area in northeastern Hungary called GUTH/ NYIRERDÖ -- is famous for its excellent game, especially the main game of fallow deer. This area produces some true giants and many have made SCI record books. In addition, there are Red Deer, Roe deer and Wild Boar.
To hunt in the area known as Guth is a special experience, where quality is paramount. Very high success- usually 100%.
*HUNTING AREA: Approx. 11.500 hectares (about 25,000 acres)
*NATURAL FEATURES: 67 % woodland
*ACCOMMODATIONS: is in three different lodges.
The harvested trophies have to be presented to the official Trophy Assessment Commission after the hunt and cannot be taken along by the hunter. The trophies will later be sent to clients address.
The chargeable weight of the horns needs to be entered into the hunting protocol by the game reserve. The basis of invoicing is the trophy weight that has been officially determined by the Trophy Assessment Commission 24 hours after boiling. The harvested and paid trophy is the property of the hunter, except for the game meat, which can be acquired by the hunting guest at an extra charge. The same applies to coats.
The final invoice is based on the completed and mutually signed shooting list according to the respective price list. For wounded game 50% of estimated trophy weight and/or harvest fee is charged.
For a custom quote, please contact us and request the complete write up for Hungary #171.

KANSAS #5
WATERFOWL HUNTS -$300 FULL DAY
|
Once the Dakotas and the Nebraska waters freeze up, the ducks and
geese come piling into Kansas to take advantage of the reservoir systems and the abundant croplands. Some winters the waterfowl never leave the friendly confines of central Kansas.
The Lodge is capable of sleeping 12 hunters, and has a full kitchen, barbeque grill, pool table and TV/DVR. All set in a country setting complete with stocked fishing pond. There also are trap shooting stations on the grounds. Enjoy a cocktail on the porch while taking in a Kansas sunset and reminiscing about the day's hunt.
This outfitter specializes in field shooting for geese and takes a variety of Canada's, white-fronted geese or specks and snow and blue geese. Limits are common. Often you may shoot a hodgepodge of ducks right long with the geese, but the outfitter does offer specialized duck hunts over water, too. The hunting is from lay-out blinds in prime pre-scouted fields over big spreads of lifelike decoys. Arrive the night before your hunt, and depart after the last hunt. The Kansas goose season typically runs from Nov. to Feb. 12. He will supply a nice lunch. You can make your own breakfast in the full kitchen they provide in the Lodge, and then go to town to Applebees or one of the other restaurants for Dinner.

Bring along your own food for early mornings, and supper if you intend to cook. The kitchen is there for your use. Just be sure and clean up after yourself. Town is 10 miles away with several good places to eat also.
They also offer wild pheasant hunting on some CRP and other ground, all with a good wild bird population. Often for variety, clients do ducks in the morning, then pheasant in the afternoon. If the wild pheasants do not co-operate, or if the wild bird season is not open (usually opens Nov. 14), then you can hunt the preserve for a modest upgrade in price.
WATERFOWL PRICING:
˝ day hunts $225 per gun; Full day hunts $300 per gun
- Option 1: two days/three hunts including two nights lodging and a noon time meal for $795.
- Option 2: Three full days of hunting with 3nights lodging, waterfowl in AM and wild pheasant in PM- $1425 including lunch and guiding.
ADD ON PRESERVE PHEASANTS: 10 bird release, PM hunt- add $250.
