NWT/NUNAVUT #1  VICTORIA ISLAND MUSKOX HUNT
These Arctic Island hunts are conducted out of Holman and have  proven to be the best, and we know of about 30 bow hunters who were successful, plus the gun hunters.  Spring sometimes has you seeing more animals, but often Spring can be more trying weather wise. Lost days are common then. It is also possible to combo spring musk ox with a wolf hunt; and it is possible to combo a fall musk ox with caribou- maybe!

The Victoria Island musk ox population has been on the increase for years and has one of the largest concentrations in the Arctic. Hunt Spring or Fall. While the trip is scheduled for five days, the hunting time can be shorter due to the abundance of musk ox- or several days longer if weather shuts you down! In addition to the great hunting, the friendly Inuit of Holman (population 400) will be happy to show you their village where much of a traditional life is still followed.

Spring hunts mean you will be transported by sled being pulled by your Inuit guide on a snow machine. Recently, at the insistence of many hunters and booking agents, the community has greatly changed the hunts and how they are run from Holman. Initially the hunts were based from the community and the hunter could even return to the hotel that evening. While this is still a option many clients would like to spend several days out experiencing the land and the friendliness of the Inuit guides. The hunt is now set up that you can return to Holman at the client's direction, not necessarily when the animal is taken.  Most of these hunts in mid to late April. The days are long and temperatures relatively comfortable. You will be able to traverse large areas of land and enjoy the scenery while hunting.

The Muskox hunts have been well over 90% successful in the past and we anticipate the same rate of success to continue. While you will be using the snowmobiles to find the muskox, the law requires the final 1.5km stalk to be on foot.  There is an option to shoot a second Muskox on this hunt.

Fall hunts you will see fewer muskox then on a spring hunt. Still -you normally will be into multiple animals every day, with more then enough to provide a good hunt. The hunter's success rate is still 100% and conditions are more pleasant then the Spring hunts.  You will go inland by ATV or along the coast by boat to find your muskox.  Please note the hunt ends when the muskox is taken.

UTAH #29    MOUNTAIN LION HUNTS- GUARANTEED
This is one of the best houndsmen we know of. He is known far and wide as one of the best breeders and best cat hound trainers in the West, and he has been doing it for nearly 30 years!

Lion hunts are totally dependent on the quality of the dogs! Some of our clients from France who have hound hunted for leopards, jaguars, lions and more, called him the best they have ever seen!
His dogs do excellent on bare ground, given any reasonable set of conditions. In snow they are of course superb. His dogs do equally well on bobcat and black bear. He hunts some gorgeous and scenic areas in southern Utah and Northern Arizona.

He has experienced guides and his horses are normally well mannered and well trained. He is a registered quarter horse breeder, so you can understand that this guy is really into his animals; and his expertise with them shows.

We have been using this outfit for a number of years, and over that time his success has hovered around the 95% plus bracket, about as good as can be expected, since bad weather can shut the hunt down. And oh what views you will be treated to! You are hunting near the famed Kaibab in some awesome canyon and mountain country with views that will not quit!
2016/2017 PRICING:
  5 Day Cougar Hunt $5000

He also is a very friendly and helpful guy, and in fact one client of ours who had some tough breaks, said to us that "most any normal outfitter would have thrown me out of camp"- and instead the guide pushed him to hang tough in the deep snow and he killed a nice lion on the last day!  We always appreciate outfitters who show patience and understanding; and who go out of their way to keep our clients happy.

VANCOUVER ISLAND #210  HOME OF GIANT BLACK BEARS AND ROOSEVELT ELK
Awesome opportunity for Roosevelt Elk!  Our outfitter just let us know that he has 2 archery and 2 rifle openings for the 2017 season. The rifle hunts next year will take place in newly opened areas that have never been hunt in the past. These hunts fill up quick so call our office now for more information.

Vancouver Island is believed to have the purest strain of Roosevelt elk in North America. These elk are true giants- the largest bodied elk in North America, and can reach over 1,000 pounds. They can live to 12 or 15 years of age in this rugged and remote country. Although their horns are very massive, they tend to have slightly shorter points then the Rocky Mountain Species. But they are a huge animal, and incredibly impressive.

Hunting is normally done much like the bear hunts. You will be hunting using 4WD's and ATV's, and by glassing old and new clear cuts or following up on bugles, if any are heard. Because of the heavy cover, this is often best done during the archery season, when vocal bulls can help point you in the right direction, and the thick cover allows you to get close. Of course rifle works quite well. This outfitter takes a very limited number of rifle elk hunters, so book well in advance. Like the bear hunts, these elk hunts are not terribly physical- but as always, being in at least reasonable shape to walk is necessary. One nice thing is that both elk and bear have been very under hunted in this territory. That means trophy animals with good age on them.

10 Day Archery Elk:   2 Openings for 2017
SEPT 10th- 19th  or  21st- 30th  1X1 guiding. $29,950.

10 Day RIFLE Elk:   2 Openings in October  1X1  $33,750.

NOTE: This guide territory has been very lightly hunted! The outfitter will be rifle hunting 2 new areas that have never been hunted in the past. He states that this will only make the already awesome hunting even better.

Tags and License fee are included in the price of the hunt. A black bear can be added  for a $4500 Trophy fee if a bear is harvested.  An awesome hunt for truly big bulls plus the opportunity for Black Bear.
TRAVEL: If you want to take home the meat, the most economical way is to drive. You can route yourself through  the City of Vancouver and take one of the three BC Ferry Terminals located at Departure Bay, Duke Point and Downtown. Duke point is often the choice, but check.

The flight from the mainland is short. Again you will be met at airport, and driven 2 hours at no charge, to the lodge.

AZERBAIJAN #159    DAGESTAN (EASTERN) TUR HUNT
The Republic of Azerbaijan, located in the south-eastern Caucasus, is home of the Dagestan Tur. It inhabits the mountains of Azerbaijan at altitudes between 5500- 9500'. With an average horn length of 32" and scientific doubt as to whether it is a goat or a sheep, it is eligible for both the Ovis and Capra slams.

The hunt for Dagestan Tur is considered by many to be the ultimate test for the mountain game hunters. It requires good physical condition and mental toughness. It is described by many as the toughest of all mountain game hunt. A Dagestan Tur is something to be proud of.

There are daily flights of Turkish Airlines from New York to Istanbul (non-stop) and to Baku. As you will be dealing with only one airline, this seems to be the best way in terms of checking your luggage all the way through Baku.

The Hunting runs from April through December, with the best months being July and August along with early September.

Weather in Caucasus mountain in July and August has temperatures around 68-80 F during the day. Some fog can be expected anytime during the day Sometimes fog can stay in the area for several days. Hunters are accommodated mainly in tented hunting camps. But some hunting areas have small cabins that can be used for lodging.

This outfit hunts 5,000 acres in central Missouri. We like the fact that he rests his properties  for a full 2 days in between groups of hunters. We have observed many outfitters that seriously over hunt their properties.

With only 6 hunters in camp at a time and strictly managed property we expect you to have an awesome hunting experience!

The last two years this outfitter has an average deer score pushing close to 150 inches on mature bucks and he expecting 2016 to be no different. This combined with a very reasonable price and no draw on the tags makes this hunt a potential sleeper in our book.
The Outfitters hunting properties are located in Central Missouri and provides some excellent deer & turkey cover on 5,000 private acres. The grounds are managed and maintained year round for big bucks to ensure the best possible hunting experience. The lodge is an older home- clean, not fancy.
All hunts are 5 day hunts, with the hunters showing up the evening before the first day of the hunt, and leaving mid morning, the day after their last evening hunt.
