MEXICO #265   COUE'S DEER & GOULDS TURKEY- CALL
Here is a Great outfitter with 6 private ranches and 173,000 acres of prime Couse deer hunting.

This outfitter's clients are his best advertising. They report seeing Coues bucks daily, and often seeing 5 to 20 deer or more during the course of their hunt. They report excellent food (most say they gain weight); very good guides, excellent deer sizes and very good numbers of Coues deer.  Here are a couple of quotes:

"Would do this hunt again in a heartbeat"- CF.

"Will cherish this hunt for a lifetime" -JW

"Excellent food, lodging, guides and equipment. Felt very safe. All papers in order -easy border crossing" TP

From El Paso, hunters will rent a vehicle and then drive southwest to Columbus, N.M. (one hour), where the outfitter will meet you. You put all the stuff in his truck and he drives you into Mexico. You can leave the rented vehicle in a safe place in Columbus.
If you prefer - the outfitter will meet you at the airport in El Paso; spend that night there, and the outfitter, for an extra $150 per hunter, will transport you round trip. We at Hunt Nation prefer that method for our clients, and it gives you a chance to get acquainted with your outfitter during the ride.

The outfitter will secure all permits for crossing the border and he will be with you all the time - both into and out of Mexico and he will assist with US CUSTOMS.

ROMANIA #22  STAG, WOLF, BROWN BEAR, CHAMOIS
Hunting European Brown Bear in Romania is a truly unique hunt, and a wonderful cultural experience as well. In this wonderful country you can hunt brown bear, wild boar, red stag, chamois, roe deer, fallow deer and wolf and possibly lynx. In all this outfitter hunts over 123,000 acres.

They directly manage those areas, and their hunts range from the plains to the high and scenic Carpathian mountains. Lots of species, lots of areas.

Hunts can be arranged for as little as 2 to 3 days, with 5 to 7 days being about optimal for most species. This is all free range wild game. Depending on the hunting area - the accommodations are in 3 and 4 star hotels, or in hunting houses. You will experience very personal treatment and you will enjoy the old world charm and treatment as well. Romania is a top notch hunting destination.

The brown bear population in Romania is relatively huge, the largest in Europe we believe. They are hunted normally from a hide over bait. Success is very high. Likewise most of their other hunts are high success, with chamois perhaps being the hardest.

They have wonderful bird hunting, awesome huge boar hunts, some superb fallow deer and some good stag hunts as well-in short plenty of variety and a unique locale that appeals to men and women alike. A great cultural opportunity too!

In general their seasons run when ours do, September thru December, with prime times varying by specie. Please ask for full details, it is too complex to deal with here.

But for example, currently there is a short time special for the European brown bear at a flat price of $6800 Euros , 5 days 4 nights. Approx $7500.

Another short time special is a Chamois for $3750 euros; approx $4150. 5 days, 4 nights. Inquire for the full writeup on this trip and these superb prices.

COLORADO #238  RFW MULE DEER HUNT- NO DRAW!
null
The ranch has exceptional numbers of wide-racked mule deer in the 165 to 180 class, and each year some are taken that can reach up the 190-inch range and larger. Since most clients concentrate on elk, the muleys are usually killed late in the season and the wise, old bucks are not hunted terribly hard.

Hunting takes place on an actively managed, 21,000-acre Ranching for Wildlife (RFW) ranch in GMU's 3 and 4 . These are all free-ranging  deer, but the RFW ranches must go thru an intensive management program supervised by the State of Colorado. RFW ranches present some of the state's premier hunting opportunities for elk and mulies.  Superb habitat and tightly controlled access result in exceptional success with very good quality and quantities of trophies.
The ranch is adjacent to thousands of acres of National Forest Service and BLM land. Those public lands have lots of elk and deer. Since the ranch is a migratory route for deer and elk headed down to the valley floor, it means that public hunting, combined with weather-caused migrations, can easily double the number of animals normally found on this habitat-rich Ranch. With 30 various sized stock ponds scattered throughout the property as water sources, this draws even more animals during dry years like we've had the last few seasons.
We have worked with this operation for about 8 years and he has always remained top notch, with extremely high success on both elk and deer.

Hunting on this wonderful private ranch may well be the opportunity of a lifetime.  Stay in a 3,000-foot deluxe, luxury lodge while enjoying a 60-inch satellite TV and Internet access. The lodge offers excellent meals prepared by their own chef. Great food, awesome lodging, high success rates, no draw and lots of game. It's the complete package. Average success rates 90% and over, opportunity about 100%. You really should go home with a solid trophy deer!

Hunting takes place at elevations ranging from 6,600 feet to about 8,000 feet.  Access on the ranch is by four-wheel drive on seasonal ranch roads plus of course walking and hiking. In general,
anyone in modest physical condition will have a great hunt and they can accommodate the less physical as well.

IDAHO #103   PRIVATE LAND FALL BLACK BEAR SPOT                       AND STALK HUNT OR HUNT WITH HOUNDS

Bears come from the surroundings mountains down to the ranch in order to fatten up for the winter.

KODIAK #51     BROWN BEAR/DEER/GOAT HUNT
ONE OF OUR FAVORITES
We have worked with this excellent outfitter for about 12 years, during which time he has consistently yielded excellent result with happy customers. We like the fact that he personally guides nearly all of his hunts!

All is strictly fair chase, and being in good physical condition is necessary for a Kodiak bear or deer hunt, as climbing up and down the many high hills, pushing through willows, up and down tree choked draws-- etc- is a frequent thing. This is true for both his bear hunts, and for his Sitka Blacktail deer hunts! Bear numbers have been on a steady upswing on Kodiak for at least the last 7 to 10 years, and it appears bear numbers may be at or close to, all time highs! This is the time to go to Kodiak! And this guy is good- among the best THERE IS on the island. He guided one of our clients in 2014 to a 10 foot plus bear on the fall hunt.

He has a 2500 square foot newly improved lodge and also spike camps.  He provides all in field transport, expert trophy care and is a very dedicated guy who wants his clients to succeed. If you want a great hunt at a relatively modest cost, then he deserves your most serious consideration.
BEAR HUNTS:
This is one of the world's best and most classic bear hunts - and this guy takes bears that consistently exceed 9', and he can average 9.5' in a good year!! And of course the 10 footers are there as well. It's a draw hunt for his brownie area, with around a 75 to 90% chance of drawing and with a kill rate in the 90% range every year! Bears average nine to nine and a half feet.  All brown bear hunts on Kodiak Island are by drawing permit and the odds of drawing have been 70-100%.

Here are some of the testimonials:
Great camp, great food, and great experience." - Dave Sporcik, Former President SCI Maine

"I have hunted nearly 80 days per year since 1984 all over the world and this guy is one of the best guides I have been fortunate to hunt with." - Jeff Meyerl

"He is and has the most ethical, professional guide operation I have hunted with worldwide. I recommend him to others without reservation." - Rom Dryden, Former President SCI Arizona

The application deadline is Dec 31 for spring and May 31 for fall. You Must also have a contract with an outfitter, with a deposit paid down on the hunt, before you apply. Draw odds in the fall are very high- 80 to 100%.

HUNT #37    PATAGONIA STAG & HOT BARREL DOVES
PATAGONIA! Just the name inspires visions of mountains, wonderful trout streams, Andean condors floating above rocky crags, and big red stags roaring out their challenges.

It is a rugged but beautiful area with generally open but steeply rolling terrain. Game is quite visible normally, and stalking into range can be a challenge. There are also some huge wild boars, which can be reclusive.

Hunting is done normally on foot, using vehicles into the hunt area. From there, climb or walk to a high ridge or mountain top and glass; then stalk your chosen animal. In mid-March to mid April, the stags are roaring loudly and often, and glassing and watching the hi-jinks is great sport indeed. Horses may be used sometimes also. This outfitter has two 5 star lodges totaling 85,000 acres in Patagonia.

If you're looking to hunt really big free range stag, in the mountains, with world class accommodations, this is the place.  This is one of the few places in Argentina that you can be reasonably sure of taking a gold medal stag in free range, and at an affordable price.

TRANSPORT: Hunters fly into Bariloche after first flying into Buenos Aires. One lodge is 60,000 private acres and is about 60 miles north of San Carlos de Bariloche. The second lodge  is 25,000 acres and is best accessed from San Martin de los Andes which is about 55 miles from the airport.

OTHER GAME TO HUNT: There are a variety of other species available here as well: Blackbuck, Pere David deer, Alpine Ibex (these tw species often sell out early), fallow deer, European mouflon, hybrid sheep, wild boar, wild goat, Somalian ram, Patagonian ram, Patagonian Dall, Axis deer, multihorn ram, Feral Oxen, Black Jacob's ram, Balearean Boc.

KANSAS #5   FAMILY FUN WATERFOWL ADVENTURE
This outfitter specializes in field
shooting for geese and takes a variety of Canada's, white-fronted geese or specks and snow and blue geese. Limits are common. Often you may shoot a hodgepodge of ducks right long with the geese, but the outfitter does offer specialized duck hunts over water too.

Once the Dakotas and Nebraska freeze up the ducks and geese come piling into Kansas to take advantage of the reservoir systems and the abundant croplands. Some winters the waterfowl never leave the friendly confines of central Kansas.

The hunting is from lay-out blinds in prime pre-scouted fields over big spreads of lifelike decoys. Arrive the night before your hunt, and depart after the last hunt. The Kansas goose season typically runs from Nov. to Feb. 12. He will supply a nice lunch. You can make your own breakfast in the full kitchen they provide in the Lodge, and then go to town to Applebees or one of the other restaurants for Dinner.
Bring along your own food for early mornings, and supper if you intend to cook. The kitchen is there for your use. Just be sure and clean up after yourself. Town is 10 miles away with several good places to eat also.

They also offer wild pheasant hunting on some CRP and other ground, all with a good wild bird population. Often for variety clients do ducks in the morning, then pheasant in the afternoon. If the wild pheasants do not co-operate, or if the wild bird season is not open (usually opens Nov. 14),  then you can hunt the preserve for a modest upgrade in price.
