GUATEMALA #46   AWESOME BILLFISHING ACTION!
4 nights, 3 days fishing, lodging, meals, 31 foot Betram- Party of 4- ONLY $1830

You may have read or heard about the awesome sail fishing, the marlin, Dorado, Roosters and Yellowfin Tuna fishing in Guatemala. It is relatively routine to raise 20 bill fish a day, and sometimes many more. This operation is small with two skippers, but one is an ex-navy seal and he also holds a 100 ton Captain's license.  The other is a world famous mate who has been featured in many fishing magazines-and who has just been granted the second boat to Captain. Top notch skippers who understand blue water trolling, and understand how to fly fish and how to use conventional tackle to raise bill fish.

They have two 31' Bertram's--- long considered one of the finest fishing boats ever built! Add to that top notch mates and a locale that has truly incredible fish numbers, and you can expect some world class fishing days.

Steve N. "He took care of anything you needed and more. Once you step off the plane you don't have another concern He  and his staff took care of everything The fishing was the best -- raising up to 30 fish a day. Thanks Skipper. I plan on seeing you again".

Lonnie G.  "We chose this operation for a family fishing experience and in anticipation of an upcoming birthday. Two in our group had some special dietary/health needs and they confirmed they would be no problem before-hand. The owner and his staff went over and above every day to meet our needs. The fishing is great - we caught 86 sailfish in three days and two in our group were novices to this type of fishing! The lodge is set in an idyllic location, clean and the food was fantastic, especially the pineapple and mango snacks on the boat! They even made a special birthday cake and sang for our birthday celebration. We hope to make this journey again and cannot thank them enough for a five star experience! Put this on your bucket list".

AUSTRALIA #174   BUFFALO, SAMBAR, RUSA HUNT
This long time New Zealand guiding operation has recently expanded into Australia, with a strong emphasis on water buffalo; rusa and sambar. They also have scrub bulls (fun) some huge boar and more. They have just purchased a huge ranch- something over 350,000 acres!! It is in the fabled Northern Territory several hours from Katherine. Several of the top 10 SCI buff have been taken here in the past. A new lodge was built, suitable for both hunters and non-hunters.

We like the fact that they are long established outfitters in New Zealand, with a solid track record--and we like that they will personally be involved for several months (June/July) of the season, while their foreman will handle the operation at other times. The northern Territory is and has been the place to hunt buff for some time and has been written about repeatedly.

Besides rifle hunting, they truly cater to archery buff hunters, and their bow hunts have appeared several times on TV archery shows- exciting stuff! You want a minimum of 60 pounds and heavy shafts. Shots are from 15 to 40 yards with two bladed broad heads of heavy construction.

Because they do laundry daily, much like Africa, you need only a two sets of African style bush clothing, and you are ready to go. As to firearms, we think a .375 Mag is best; anything smaller is not adequate. For the deer type species, the normal deer or elk rifle will do just fine. We have an equipment list- just ask us for it!
To  get there, fly to Darwin. Season runs from May to September (their seasons are 6months reversed from ours).  There is some good Barramundi fishing, there are Rock art tours to see aboriginal rock paintings, and there is horse riding.

IDAHO #103          PRIVATE LAND WHITETAILS
RIFLE DATES : NOV 10-14
 $3700 - ONLY 4 SPOTS OPEN!

This outfitter has one of the largest total private land holdings through leases in the state of Idaho.  His ranches are located in the Hell's Canyon area, near the famous and picturesque Salmon and Snake Rivers.  Access into these various ranches is strictly controlled.  The ranches are accessible by 4 wheel drive vehicles, providing easier access to productive hunting areas.  This area has elk, whitetails, mulies and a lot of black bears and lions. There is superb fishing nearby as well.

These leases have been in place for a number of years and coupled with the limited access -they have produced quality deer year after year. His success rate with rifle on whitetails during the mid-November rut normally runs about 95%. Several of the whitetails each year can exceed 160 B&C, most range from 135 to 155.

All his hunts are from permanent camps or lodges. Hunting is very close by, so no long drives! Incredibly scenic area to boot. Normally you see excellent deer numbers. You are hunting on something in excess of 50,000 acres, and As we said, a real sleeper, with a scenic area, plenty of deer and a national reputation.  Realtree and Buckmaster have hunted here many times, and the hunts have been aired dozens of times. Here is one quote from Bill Krenz who is the Vice President for Sales and Marketing for Bear Archery-
"I was unprepared for the sheer number of trophy whitetails in your very special, north Idaho hunting area. In the five days we hunted I saw 11 different whitetail bucks that I estimated would score between 130 and 155.  That's one hot trophy whitetail area!"

COLORADO PRIVATE LAND ANTELOPE W/VOUCHERS
This Colorado rancher has only taken about 6 antelope off their ranch in the past 20 years!
Extremely hard tags to draw was the reason. This year and last year,, they got an early Christmas present from the DOW- 3 antelope vouchers for the herd that has grown so much. No telling if she gets these vouchers again next year!

Hunt is for 3 days, and includes lodging, guiding, game retrieval and your home cooked dinner meals. Breakfast and lunch are on you, but the two story log cabin you stay in has cooking facilities, propane lights and a generator.

The ranch has 10,000 acres, and good numbers of antelope. You likely will see elk too! This is Unit 82 south of Salida, CO.
Season is October 1 to 7.  These antelope have only been hunted one year out of the last 20- last year- they have age and lots of prime feed.

$2495 per hunter. License $374 plus a $10 habitat stamp. The vouchers will be transferred directly to the hunter by the rancher.

This PH has done wonderfully well for past clients, on both plains game and dangerous game, including elephants, for  a number of years. We think highly of him and his way of doing business.

He has discounted both his daily rate and the trophy fees but he needs clients to go between now and the end of October.
He has very nice lodging, excellent meals, and the hunting skills he brings to the board are top notch, insuring a wonderful time.
