ARIZONA #71       BLACK BEARS "IN THE PEARS"
ARIZONA ** RIFLE * ARCHERY * MUZZLELOADER ** AUGUST * SEPTEMBER

Four and Five-day hunts along the Mogollon Rim of central Arizona and several of southeastern Arizona's mountain ranges for bears with very large skulls and color phases.  These hunts are conducted like no other bear hunts in the world in that the bears are hunted in the cactus while they eat the delicious fruit of the prickly pear cactus.  On occasion, we have seen in excess of fifteen bears a day during this brief phenomenon of late summer.

Our hunting techniques are very similar to our Coues deer hunts with big optics and remote country being the key. In the past four seasons, we have taken seventeen bears with seven in excess of the magic 20". If you like exciting hunts, hunting in shorts, and going home with a really nice tan, this is the hunt for you!  These permits are available over the counter and our bears are huge, so be sure to book early to ensure your spot in the books!
Hunts are guided one on one from dome tent base camps or hotels. Additional days are available at $500.00/day/hunter.  These hunts are also available on a two on one basis at a reduced rate. A real bargain on a very unique hunt.  AZ - Non Resident Black Bear t Tags $237 Over The Counter-No Draw!
                              $3,250.00  One on One - 4 days
                               $2,250.00 Two on One - 5 days

SPAIN #271   EXCLUSIVE FREE RANGE IBEX PACKAGE
We just had two clients return from a trip with this Outfitter. Their comments were nothing but positive in every way. They both took 2 Ibex each and rated this trip as one of the best they have ever experienced.

This outfitter has been guiding in Spain on his own and for other outfits for a number of years, and now operates his own Hunting Company. He employs a full staff of dedicated professionals to ensure that each client's expectations are not only met but exceeded.
2016 PRICING - Euro as of May 2016= $1.14 US. WONDERFUL!

SPECIAL OFFER FOR 2016: Spain is known for its beauty, its long term hunting traditions and its plentiful and carefully managed Ibex herds. Hunting is generally done from October into March, and sometimes into May for certain species, excluding the Gredos. Lodging tends to be comfortable, with great food and wine, and usually very scenic as well. Wounded game generally must be paid for at full price.
PROGRAM # 1: TWO SPECIE Ibex hunt for Beceite and Gredos species. Those are usually considered the most representative of the various ibex found in Spain. These will be representative size animals, not gold or silver medal. But the price is just 8.500 € ( approx $9650 US) for two Ibex!! Price is all inclusive of guiding, meals and lodging; except for two hunting license 200 € ($230) (Areas- Extremadura and Comunidad of Valencia). Tips and personal expenses are extra. Four days actual hunting is minimum. We suggest you allow at least 7 days to include flights. Allow more for touring.

PROGRAM # 2: GRAND SLAM: Take all four of the major Ibex.
These will be Representative trophy size ibex from the 4 major species (Beceite, Gredos, Ronda, and Sierra Nevada) . Price for the grand slam is just 19.000 € ( approx $21,500 US) for the four Ibex .
4 hunting licenses are extra @ 400 € ($450 US) (Hunt areas are Extremadura, Comunidad of Valencia and Andalucía for Sierra Nevada and Ronda). Price is all inclusive of guiding, meals and lodging.  Tips and personal expenses are extra. Allow 10 days for the slam, plus travel time and touring.
All flights should go into Madrid. Pickup is free of charge.
Stalking is the only technique used to hunt game here. There is horse and vehicle access to the lower lodges and to some of those at the middle levels, but the rest of the area must be covered on foot or by mountain horses, which are very gentle and accustomed to the mountain trails.

The hunting period runs from September 1 to the end of April with the rut taking place in November and December. Selective hunting is the cornerstone of their management policy. They are committed to making every effort to bring males to maturity, allowing them to develop to their full potential. It is not uncommon to take animals of 14 years of age!
Customer service is front and center with this outfitter. They really stress taking care of their game and their customers.  Call our office for more details on this exceptional offer!

CALIFORNIA #199     BLACKTAIL DEER AND HOGS
4-Day Hunt $3750/Hogs 2 Day Hunt $1100
100% SHOT OPPORTUNITY!

This Outfitter only takes 10 Blacktail hunters a year to ensure  100% opportunity and quality big bucks - These hunts tend to stay booked out almost a year so don't delay if a deer slam is on your list.

BLACKTAILS- Many hunters want to take all of the various deer species, (the "deer slam"). SCI lists substantially more varieties then does B&C, but if you want a Columbian blacktail, then per SCI, your choice is much more limited with most being taken in California, and some from Washington, Oregon and BC.  California seems to be best for the largest deer with 15 of the top 25 SCI book deer coming from California.
Most of these deer will weigh between 125 to 180 pounds with a good trophy deer scoring in the 110 to 140 class, but a few will range 150 to even 180.

This particular outfitter hunts black tails, hogs in Sonomoa and Mendocino counties in California. This area is beautiful and has a good deal of wild visual appeal with broad canyons, evergreens and high hills, lush farmland and more.  He conducts his blacktail deer hunts on what is called A-zone private ranches in those two counties. An A-zone deer tag is available over the counter - first come first served. The archery season opens in July and the general season opens the second weekend in August and continues into late September.

The success ratio is very high on this hunt since all of his deer hunts are one hunter to one guide (1X1)!! The ranches are private which allows him to keep  hunting pressure low, meaning bucks are given a chance to mature to trophy status. And you can hunt them with archery equipment or a rifle.
WILD PIGS-  Now if a huge old boar is something that gets your juices flowing, he has a bunch of them!  But do not underestimate these guys. They are very intelligent, have good eyesight and often stalks are blown by unseen game, or by the hogs you are trying to close in on. This is more challenging then you might at first think, but you will have many chances in the course of a typical hunt.

Here is a comment by one hunter:
"This was an excellent, fair chase, spot and stalk pig hunt. It was excellent terrain for the novice and the experienced hunters. Great for deer and pigs. Lots of cover and water on the ranch. Out guide was excellent to hunt with. He is very knowledgeable and fun to be around. He was very willing to help us get our pigs. We saw a couple dozen blacktails and a lot of pig activity and lets not forget our two trophy boars that we took. It was great. My friend and I took two trophy 220 pound plus boars in one day. He was great with the preparation of the game after the kill. I was impressed with how quick and clean he field dressed our pigs. It was very exciting shooting my big boar at such a close range. I am a fairly new hunter but I know enough for what to look for and this outfit did not disappoint me in any way. They have fair pricing, knowledgeable guides, lots of game and a beautiful ranch. I will be seeing them often."

ALASKA #278   FISH THE FAMED NUSHAGAK RIVER
Here is a great Alaska summer fishing trip for family and friends! And it is a fly in camp- and the flight is included in the price!!!

Salmon fishermen in Alaska OFTEN talk about the Nushagak River and its' legendary 75 to 100 fish days! Burned thumbs, weary arms, bull dog runs, blindingly fast hits- these are strong fighting and tough fish. Enough so that some days you are ready (almost!) to cry Uncle and throw in the towel!

This river also hosts staggering runs of mint bright chum salmon, sockeyes and silvers, with an occasional grayling or Dolly Varden thrown in. These King Salmon are fresh out of the salt, good tasting and strong as an ox. Fish average 20 to 25 pounds, although 30's and larger are caught. The chums which are also fresh out of the ocean and therefore are delicious eating (really) and will average 7 to 10 pounds. It is normal to hit 30 to 60 fish, per day per boat.

We really like the fact that this operation is a small one- a maximum of 8 fishermen per week! You fish from big hefty 20 foot boats, 4 per boat with a knowledgeable local guide who knows the river well. Normally you will side drift. Side drifting is a west coast technique, whereby you toss your baits or lures out at about a 60 to 90 degree angle from the boat, then the boat is operated at a speed to match the current and the drifting bait. Offerings then move at current speed and in a natural manner, and you are holding the rod for the strikes!

LIMITED OPENINGS FOR THIS YEAR!  CALL OR EMAIL US FOR DETAILS.

MEXICO #280   BIG SONORAN MULE DEER
We have been working with this rancher for about 3 to 4 years now. Our clients have taken some wonderful Desert Sheep, and some very good mule deer.  He just acquired two new ranches for trophy deer and will allow 3 to 4 hunters per ranch, no more than that.

Butch says-  "I truly enjoy hunting the Sonoran Desert of Mexico. I have hunted there 7 times, and out of all the giant mule deer I have ever seen in over 45 years of chasing them, the three largest bucks I have ever seen -- have all been in Mexico.  Considering the many months and years of hunting elsewhere, that is an amazing fact. The biggest buck, and the one I still dream about, was about 40" or better, a perfect 4X4 that was way above 200", --but he was chasing does thru the brush at 400 plus yards and it was not an ethical shot. I never saw him again- except in my dreams. It is these types of bucks that entice me and many others to return to Mexico.

However- Mexico does not have a huge deer population- so do not go expecting to see giants everywhere. More likely you see one or two, but a monster can pop out anytime.

This particular operation is hunting approximately 130,000 acres, consisting of 5 ranches and with the 2 new ranches, the total now approaches 160,000 acres of private ground.  The hunting area is surrounded by high mountains, which are great Desert sheep country and also offer many hiding places for slammer muleys and Coues. You can glass vast areas and will see far different scenery then you are used to seeing in mule deer country. Sitting on the front veranda, you will be impressed by the nearness of the mountains.

All hunts are 1X1 hunts. Price also includes your license, your gun permit and airport pickup and return, and caping.

MULE DEER 7 day hunt is $5500. You pay a $2750 reservation fee with the hunt balance of $2750 due on arrival. Then, if you kill or wound you then pay a $2750 trophy fee- so lots of incentive here for the outfitter to work hard for you.
DATES:  Mid December to Feb 2nd 2017.
BRAZIL #272   PEACOCK BASS IN THE AMAZON
Imagine waking up on your 125 foot long yacht, listening to two tribes of howler monkeys screaming at one another at first light. See the morning's red sun climbing into the sky. You remember falling into a peaceful sleep as a muffled generator purred and as water lapped against your mothership, all while you are resting in your air conditioned stateroom, deep in the remote Amazon rainforest.

The mighty Peacock Bass of Brazil's Amazon has become one of the most sought after freshwater fish species in the world since this fishery was opened in the early 1990's. This colorful hard fighting fish, which can weigh 25 lbs or better, is an aggressive feeder that will come out of 20 feet of water to demolish huge, noisy top water lures with a vengeance.  A Peacock Bass wants to crush anything invading his domain. They are out to kill that lure!
Visualize a 25 pound Smallmouth Bass having a bad hair day, and you will get an idea of what a Peacock Bass' temperament and fighting ability are all about! Peacock Bass will readily strike jerk baits, spoons, jigs and flies, but that explosive top water strike on a big Woodchopper or Rip Roller is what people come to Brazil's Amazon to experience.
