Over 20,000 Bucket Lists Cleared & Counting!
IOWA, KANSAS, MISSOURI #60    WHITETAIL HUNTS
The 2016 application period will run from May 7th, 2016 to June 5th, 2016, so you have plenty of time to apply.

In general, it takes about 3 years of preference points to draw an Iowa bow tag. Bow tags are the hottest commodity in Iowa, since they hit the rut- meaning good buck movement. Gun tags are much easier to draw, and often can be drawn the first time you apply.

This outfitter hunts Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. Iowa is his home state and he harvests some awesome deer every year in that State.  This outfitter knows that Iowa is one of the top destinations in North America for trophy whitetail deer hunting. His hunts have produced a number of Boone & Crockett Whitetail Deer. He hunts SW Iowa and he also hunts northwestern Missouri. And for 2016 he has added Kansas!

One of the largest reasons for this outfitters success is due to the careful game management of the properties and the size restrictions of deer (140" minimum in Iowa) he allows to be taken each season on our properties.  He usually likes to keep groups around 6 for bow and 8 to 10 for gun.  Getting an Iowa tag is a process, which he will assist you with. He puts many hours of hard work into food plots, stand placement, clearing shooting lanes and scouting each year. This is still a fair chase hunt where many hours in the stand is necessary.

This hunt is customized for the hunter looking to take a buck scoring 140 or larger. In the last few years their largest deer scored 216 B&C with many bucks seen that would have scored over 170 B&C. In the last 6 or 7 years, they have taken 5 bucks that have grossed over 200 Boone & Crockett.

Whitetail hunts are on a 2 on 1 basis. You hunt box blinds, ladder stands, portables, ground blinds, bale blinds and tower stands. The whitetail hunts are 5 days in duration.  All stand locations are carefully planned out and pre-scouted before clients arrive.

MISSOURI IS OVER THE COUNTER FOR RIFLE OR BOW and it too has some very large bucks.  $3750. 130" minimum.

IOWA HUNT COST:  Hunts are guided with one guide per 2 hunters, 5 DAYS, 6 NIGHTS; $4,750 meals and lodging included. Licenses and Tags are extra.

KANSAS DEER HUNTS: More info to follow- this just happened!!
He has just acquired the hunting rights on 6,600 prime Kansas acres along the famed Republican River. Since he has just acquired it, he has not had time to implement all his normal practices, such as tons of trail cams and plenty of food plots and supplemental feeding of protein. For 2016 we think the range will be 140 to 155, with a chance for larger. He again will insist on a 140" minimum.  $4750.

KODIAK #51  BROWN BEAR AND SITKA BLACKTAILS
Sold Out 2016-  Now is the time to book for 2017 Season.
We have worked with this excellent outfitter for about 12 years, during which time he has consistently yielded excellent results with happy customers.

We like the fact that he personally guides nearly all of his hunts! All is strictly fair chase, and being in good physical condition is necessary for a Kodiak bear or deer hunt, as climbing up and down the many high hills, pushing through willows, up and down tree choked draws-- etc- is a frequent thing. This is true for both his bear hunts, and for his Sitka Black tail deer hunts! Bear numbers have been on a steady upswing on Kodiak for at least the last 7 to 10 years, and it appears bear numbers may be at or close to, all-time highs! This is the time to go to Kodiak! And this guy is good- among the best THERE IS on the island. He guided one of our clients in 2014 to a 10 foot plus bear on the fall hunt.

He has a 2500 square foot newly improved lodge and also spike camps. He lodge is quite new and has plenty of room and you will be warm and comfortable. He provides all in field transport, expert trophy care and is a very dedicated guy who wants his clients to succeed. If you want a great hunt at a relatively modest cost, then he deserves your most serious consideration.
His duck hunting is often world class too, with a huge variety of waterfowl. A collector's dream hunt. And he has world class fishing from his charter boat. He knows Kodiak like few people do- and he produces and works his tail off for his clients!

BEAR HUNTS:
This is one of the world's best and most classic bear hunts - and this guy takes bears that consistently exceed 9', and he can average 9.5' in a good year!! And of course the 10 footers are there as well. It's a draw hunt for his brownie area, with around a 75 to 90% chance of drawing and with a kill rate in the 90% range every year! Bears average nine to nine and a half feet. He guided a client in 2010 to the NEW WORLD RECORD BROWN BEAR with a handgun. It squared 10'2" and was 28 14/16 SCI.

All brown bear hunts on Kodiak Island are by drawing permit and the odds of drawing have been 70-100%.  The application deadline is December 31 for spring and May 31 for fall.
You must also have a contract with an outfitter, with a deposit paid down on the hunt, before you apply. If you want to do the bear hunt MAKE SURE YOU CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY SO WE CAN GET YOU INTO THE DRAW! YOU ARE VERY LIKELY TO DRAW THE FIRST YEAR YOU APPLY!! IF NOT HE WILL ROLL YOUR DEPOSIT OVER TO THE NEXT DRAWING!!

A couple of other things to keep in mind is that he will allow you on a bear hunt to add on a Sitka blacktail for $2000- a nice bonus and a new specie for many hunters. He also has some superb sea duck hunting. About 10 species of ducks are available including Harlequin, Barrow's Goldeneye, Scoters, and Old Squaw.

IDAHO #103  DISCOUNTED SPRING BLACK BEAR HUNTS
HUNT 2 BEARS AND A WOLF FOR ONLY $1950.

They have been baiting bears since 1979, (this is important, bears remember established bait sites) and  produce more trophy bear than any of their competitors by a large margin.  All of our bear hunts have been close to 100% opportunity.  These are wilderness bear hunts that produce about 50% color phase with colors ranging from dark chocolate to cinnamon, blond and red. P&Y and B&C candidates are spotted every season with several hunters placing their 19" & 20" bruins in the literature.

NOW ONLY $1950!!! - dates are June 6-10, 13-17, 20-24.  for the pack-in tent camp hunt.
This spring bait hunt in the Selway-Bitterroot wilderness area.  This area is so vast and has such a high bear population that you have a very rare opportunity to be able to hold 2 bear tags in this unit.  Many hunters will have the opportunity to take 2 bears during their hunt; some have even taken 2 bears in the same evening.  These hunts take place on the Lochsa River and are the month of June.

Like most bear hunts, you will only hunt in the afternoon, since this is when they see about 90% of our bear activity on the baits.  They have tree stands and ground blinds set up weeks in advance so the bears have time to get used to the bait area, making them more likely to come in during the daylight hours.  This is an any-weapon hunt, so one bear can be taken with a rifle and next with a bow, or even a pistol.  On occasion they will do a mid-day hillside hunt to watch some open canyons that bears may be using to do some grazing earlier in the day.
On this hunt expect around 90% success, with opportunity easily reaching 100% annually.

Bears on this hunt average from 5'10" to 6'6" in length, we will take some each year getting up to 7 feet long, with our largest being 8 foot.  The bears this time of year tend to weigh in around 200-300 pounds, and average about 50% color phase bears.  This hunt is 5 days and includes all lodging and meals.

BC #151    HUNT MOOSE, GOAT & CARIBOU
This a small-volume outfitter that specializes in quality, personalized service and big-time adventure.  He takes 13-16 clients per year.

The outfitter guides in a remote area situated in northern British Columbia at the headwaters of the famous Skeena River on the border of Spatsizi Wilderness Park. This area has a burgeoning moose population and is home to world-class grizzly bears.  The area also has exceptional populations of mountain goat, Mountain caribou and black bear. Historically, this area has been lightly hunted due to its remote location accessed by a 200-mile flight north of Smithers, British Columbia.
This area is approximately 1,200 sq. miles in size. The hunting area takes place in the drainages of the Skeena, Klappan, Spatsizi, and Stikine rivers. There are some Stone sheep, but success on sheep is only about 25-30%.  The outfitter's main camp consists of log and frame cabins. This is the starting point for most hunts. From there you may go to spike camps in various locations consisting of wall tents.
The outfitter also uses boats out of the main camp for moose hunts. The outfitter also has some small remote lakes where they conduct backpack hunts out of.  Most hunts are 10 days and consist of single or multiple species (longer trips can be arranged upon request).

Everyone knows Kansas has a reputation as a big buck producer. For years, our outfitter in Kansas searched for good, solid leases. It was not an easy task. Kansas is a big state and there are not a lot of places in Kansas where you can consistently grow big buck deer. But, he finally found an area with a combination of exceptional genetics, fantastic feed, and limited access and land ownership patterns that will allow consistent production of great deer.

Trophy quality to expect on this hunt is 140-160" with upper-end bucks possible. He has harvested 170-200"+ bucks in the area in the recent past. This is a great place to archery hunt during the rut. Our outfitter tries to target specific bucks for the most part, but he also hunts likely looking sign and topography as opportunities arise.

Archery hunting is the month of November, although the season dates do and will change each year. Please call our office for updates as Kansas has recently instituted a preference point system for their deer license draw, which allows for planning and some certainty of drawing a license.

Accommodations and food on this hunt are decent but in no way extravagant. This is a hunter's hunt -- the way to the spa is the other direction.

Kansas deer are no push-overs and to get the better bucks you need to hunt them hard. They use tree stands, ladder stands and ground blinds primarily. Now, you can generally get a crack at a buck by spotting and stalking, but to consistently harvest the good bucks, you should be prepared to hunt from the stands, practice scent control, and use your skills. There is a definite correlation on these Kansas hunts between a client's dedication and skill, and the size of buck harvested. All day sits can make all the difference on a week-long hunt.
