HUNGARY #171 GIANT FALLOW DEER, BOAR, STAG
| NOW IS THE TIME TO HUNT EUROPE! THE EURO IS DOWN TO $1.12 PER USD!
Hungary is about the size of Indiana and borders Austria on the west and Romania on the east. Very fertile rolling plains abound. Both the Danube and Tisza Rivers dominate, splitting the country into 3 parts. The high point is only 2,894 feet.
The biggest Fallow deer, arguably in the world, come from Hungary, including the world record.
The forestry area in northeastern Hungary called GUTH/ NYIRERDÖ -- is famous for its excellent game, especially the main game of fallow deer. This area produces some true giants and many have made SCI record books. In addition, there are Red Deer, Roe deer and Wild Boar. To hunt in the area known as Guth is a special experience, where quality is paramount. Very high success- usually 100%. The chargeable weight of the horns needs to be entered into the hunting protocol by the game reserve. The basis of invoicing is the trophy weight that has been officially determined by the Trophy Assessment Commission 24 hours after boiling. The harvested and paid trophy is the property of the hunter, except for the game meat, which can be acquired by the hunting guest at an extra charge. The same applies to coats.
Pricing varies with weight of horns, but a big Fallow, with all the amenities might cost you around $3500-$4000. Very reasonable and a unique experience!
The final invoice is based on the completed and mutually signed shooting list according to the respective price list. For wounded game 50% of estimated trophy weight and/or harvest fee is charged.

IDAHO #103 (2) SPRING BEARS - SAVE $500 OR BEAR/TURKEY COMBO
| DISCOUNTED PRICE, ONLY $2200!
This outfitter has been in business for over 20 years and has been featured numerous times on big name TV hunting shows. He's a long established and capable outfitter.
The outfitter hunts along the Lochsa River out of a Base camp. He also does Wilderness hunts from tent outposts.
BASE CAMP LODGE OR WILDERNESS TENT CAMP (UNIT 12) The Lochsa River area they hunt is a wilderness area that has become overrun with bears and Idaho Game and Fish are allowing two bears to be harvested in spring. They are almost giving the bear tags away at about $31.75 per tag. The hunt is over bait Hunting takes place IN the Selway-Bitterroot country of central Idaho. There's fishing nearby, too. All hunts are fully guided.
Like most bear hunts, you only hunt in the afternoon, since this is when they see a majority of the bear activity on the baits. Tree stands and ground blinds are set up weeks in advance so the bears have time to get used to the bait area, making them more likely to come in during the daylight hours. Access to the baits is by vehicles, on foot, horseback, and they also raft across the river to reach many never before baited spots. T his is an any-weapon hunt, so one bear can be taken with a rifle and next with a bow, or even a pistol. On occasion you will do a mid-day hillside hunt to watch some open canyons that bears may be using to do some grazing earlier in the day.
They do very well on this hunt at around 90% success, with opportunity easily reaching 100% annually. Bears on this hunt average from 5'10" to 6'6" in length, they will take some each year getting up to 7 feet long, with the largest being 8 foot. The bears this time of year tend to weigh in around 200-300 pounds. You can count on seeing about 50% color phase bears. This hunt is 5 days and includes all lodging and meals.
PRIVATE LAND SPRING BEAR/TURKEY COMBO HUNT 2016 Price - $2800 These hunts are from their regular lodge, which is on private ground and overlooks a game rich area for whitetails, mulies, elk, turkey and of course bear. Over the years during elk season they noticed the large number of bears on their two ranches, so about 10 years ago they started putting out some bear baits in the spring and it was a huge success. This is a one bear area in a combo with up to 2 turkey tags. This hunt takes place on both their ranches in units 13 and 14.
Access to the baits is fairly easy, usually drive right up to them by 4-wheeler. As for success on the bear hunts they do very well, around 95% success on this hunt, with opportunity reaching 100% most years. Average bears are from 5'10" to 6'6", with some going 7 foot and larger. They also average about 50% on color phase bears. They range from dark chocolate brown to cinnamon, blonde, and red. This hunt is 5 days and includes all lodging and meals. You usually bear hunt only in the evenings and then turkey hunt in the mornings when the birds are coming out of roost, Turkey is generally unguided, because guides are checking baits that time of day.

NWT #163 TROPHY DALL SHEEP, MOUNTAIN CARIBOU
|
For the last several years, this area of the NWT (Mackenzie Mountains) has been producing extremely high success rates on Dall Sheep, averaging in excess of 95%.
This outfitter has hunters who have returned 5, 6, and even 9 times! This high success means he can be booked up as much as 15 months in advance, so do not procrastinate in booking him! Besides his high success, his sheep average 10.5 years old! This clearly shows that his area is healthy and not over hunted, and the extra years of age on these rams equate to more mass and larger horns. The rams averaged nearly 36 ˝", and since many hunters shoot the first decent ram they see, this speaks volumes as to potential. Normally, most hunters will see five to 10 rams, but you may see over 30!
This area is one of the better regions for exceptional mountain caribou, with one scoring 407-2/8. They have taken a number of Boone and Crocket Caribou in recent years, including a pending world record of 463 B&C. Many book heads come from this area. We just finished some research on mountain caribou, and his herd appears to be the largest in the NWT by a good margin. The outfitter has a combo hunt option for both sheep and caribou, and it costs only an average of $6400 more to include the caribou. That is a relative bargain, as a good mountain caribou hunt typically is a solid $7,500 -$9,500 or more.
Please also note that wolf and wolverine are included free, assuming you have the tags. Most hunting is done via horseback, making this hunt easier than many. It still helps to be in reasonable shape, of course.

IDAHO #103 SEPTEMBER 5-DAY ARCHERY WHITETAIL
|
This hunt takes place in early September in Western Idaho. The bucks you will be chasing on this hunt receive relatively
little hunting pressure because you are hunting only on private land.
Because of the terrain, which includes large canyons and fields, they can locate the bedding and feeding areas and the travel corridors in between that the big bucks use. Scouting begins in early August when the outfitter and guides take notice of whitetail patterns. Multiple trail cameras are set up to help nail down the big ones.
When the season arrives, they have everything fine-tuned with stands in place and well planned strategies. Large bucks, often in velvet, are in large bachelor groups in early September, with many placing well in the Pope and Young category and even in the Boone and Crockett Club.
This is a 5 day hunt and is full guided 1 on 2. Averaging about 60% success on this hunt with most bucks being nice solid 125-150 class. All lodging and meals are included; with full bathrooms with showers, nice bedrooms with comfortable beds, and large main living area with all the amenities of home.
