IMPORTANT INDUSTRY NEWS
Be advised it's getting more and more difficult to hunt and import Lions around the world. If you have an African lion on your bucket list. You may want to move it to the top.
One of our clients that lives in Australia just lost his opportunity to hunt the lion he had a deposit on, and now will have to settle for some lesser animals on his safari.  Contact us, we have several good options.

AUSTRALIAN HUNTERS who travel to Africa to shoot lions will no longer be able to bring their trophies home with them, following an import ban announced 3/13/15.  THIS WILL NO DOUBT AFFECT U.S. HUNTERS, SO YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER A LION HUNT THIS YEAR, SEE RECOMMENDATIONS BELOW.

(2) SOUTH AFRICA LION HUNTS
SOUTH AFRICA #204
"Dear Butch: Hope all is well. Gary left yesterday for Cape Town and the hunt was a complete success. What a nice guy. To give you a brief rundown, we hunted our butts off for these Lions, you can ask Gary how we walked and walked. Hunted the Lioness for 2 days and only saw her for 2 seconds. Got the male after a hell of a hunt on day 3, followed up the female again that afternoon with no success, but got her after another FULL day on day 4 -- He also got an awesome Nyala as well as Waterbuck, Black Wildebeest and Springbok".

These hunts are conducted properly and no canned/drugged cats are hunted. The two enclosure areas are 25,000 acres (39 square miles) and the other is 18,000 acres (28 square miles), and the Lions are currently walking free on the property. You will earn your lion here- you can spend days just walking! Each area has a resident pride on it that was brought in wild, about 3 years ago from Kruger Park and they live free on these areas.

You fly first to Johannesburg, South Africa, Nice thing here is that you do not need to spend thousands of dollars for charter flights!!

Lion Male & Female - 5 days @  $27,500 average male & female
Lion Male only - 5 days @ $19,800 -average male
Lioness only - 5 days @ $8250.
Additional hunting days are @ $400/day and @ $200/day for an Observer.

SO AFRICA #208

This is another excellent PH.  The lion hunts are conducted on 10,000 acres, meaning an area of approximately 15.6 square miles.

A lion hunt can be customized to make it accessible for nearly anyone, or you can be walking, stalking and tracking spoor for a couple days. It is a real hunt, with real tracking and real dangers. Many of these lions have no natural fear of man, which can be a serious problem. Do not think it is a cake walk!

MEXICO #244  GOULDS TURKEY BONANZA

This operation may well be the best there is in Mexico for giant Goulds turkey and huge Coues deer. This is absolutely the finest Gould's hunting in the world!
This operation has placed many Goulds in the book!  You will be hunting on approximately 55,000 private acres in the central portion of Mexico about 3 hours north east of Mazatlan. Here you will find large mountains, impressive canyons, a lot of pine and oak woods, and numerous lakes, dams and brooks. This is much different country from desert areas you may have hunted around Hermosillo or in the northern Sierras. This is an area of woodlands, lots of moisture, lots of food, and reduced visibility compared to the desert areas. And all the woodlands make for great security cover, and abundant feed. Add to that  an owner deeply committed to improving the habitat by adding  food plots, by cutting senderos, and by very careful management, and you have an incredible place in Mexico.

Built originally to be a very upscale resort, with 6 luxury bedrooms, baths en-suite, two living and dining rooms, a game room, fishing ponds, horses and much more; it has also become a world class hunting place.

ALASKA #102- REMOTE FLY IN FISHING W/FREE BEAR

This is a very affordable and unique trip.  I just got a call from one of my Alaska outfitters who has a GREAT fishing opportunity.

He has a government camp that didn't get funded this year, so it will be setting empty this summer. This will allow him to sell some of the best fishing in Alaska at half price.

This area is considered the last stronghold for remote fishing in Alaska. Located on a 5-mile-long lake, the lodge makes an ideal setting for some of the best fishing for Rainbow & Lake Trout, Dolly Varden, and Arctic Grayling. At varying times through the summer Chinook (King), Sockeye (Red) and Coho (Silver) begin appearing. Fish are also plentiful in nearby streams and rivers. The fishing season begins in early June for Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling and Lake Trout in the pristine lake. Salmon fishing begins in July with King Salmon and Red Salmon followed by great Silver Salmon in August. in addition to Rainbow Trout and Grayling in the nearby clear water tributary streams.

A group of 5 will get 5 days guided fishing, and a free black bear for each fisherman for only $2450/PP.

The bear is hunted as an animal of opportunity while fishing, and they expect 50 to 60% of the fishermen to have an opportunity at a bear. This price includes the bush flight from Anchorage to the camp and back, meals, lodging, and fishing guide.

Smaller groups can be arranged, the flight cost would be covered as follows.

A group of 4 would pay $2995/PP
A group of 3 would pay $3295/PP
A group of 2 would pay $3595/PP
A single fisherman would pay $3995

ARGENTINA #39    RED STAG, BLACKBUCK, WATER BUFFALO AND BOARS - BOOK NOW FOR 2016!
Butch,
Jay and I had a great time and successful hunt. Just wanted you to know, we both feel we got our money's worth. You have this hunt accurately described and it went off like clock work. The meet, greet, transfers, and tours in Buenos Aires were on the spot. Arriving in camp to be coddled and fed is certainly a treat. The owner and staff were gracious hosts who went out of their way to please. The guides were more than competent and the stags, while not behind every tree, proved to be a fun fair chase experience and I am very pleased with mine.  Regards,  Howard.

This is an outfitter we have sent a bunch of folks to, and virtually everyone seems to come home happy and with their trophy!
Butch and Joan have hunted here four times, with the most recent visit being wildly successful.  They took in March 2012,
13 stags for 10 hunters in 4 days! Plus 6 blackbuck and 3 sheep.

During the prime roar, a good morning hunt might show you 10 to 15 big stags, a slow morning 3 to 6! (Not counting the roars you pass on!) The total volume of antlers seen was absolutely beyond belief. Animals were seen fighting, screaming, chasing hinds, breeding, walking in front of us, alongside us, behind us. At night, you lie there in bed listening to stags roaring outside the lodge (ear plugs are nice!). Our bow hunters had multiple chances almost every day, and our gun hunters had even more chances!

To catch roaring stags you want to hunt in March and April. Those are equivalent to our September and October. Prime dates for these hunts are being grabbed now, so it is time to get serious.
All of these hunts have extreme success on great animals!

Hunting season 2016- (All hunts are 4 days & 5 nights)
Option 1-  1 red stag any size = $ 4,800
Option 2-  1 red stag, 1 day dove hunting = $5,400
Option 3-  1 red stag, 1 Blackbuck = $5,500
Option 4-  1 red stag, 1 Blackbuck, 1 day dove hunting= $6,200
Option 5-  1 red stag, 1 Cull stag = $ 5,400
Option 6-  1 red stag, 1 Water Buffalo, 1 Blackbuck = $9,000

Add to that, food that is excellent, guides that are very accomplished and great fun to hunt with, and very nice accommodations!

WYOMING #130 - AWESOME ANTELOPE ADVENTURE

This outfitter hunts well over 250,000 acres. (I lost track - he keeps adding new leases). One nice thing is that he has 4 or 5 different hunt areas to pick from, allowing him to tailor dates and terrain to every ones needs. Our consultant Brian has guided this property for 10 years, so when he say's this is as good as it gets! You can bet it is.

Antelope hunts have been near 100% successful draw with 100% success for many years.

One lady hunter asked Brian -- how many antelope she would see on her hunt. Brian told her she could not even shoot until she had counted 30 buck antelope. Her tag was filled with in 1 ½ hours of reaching the ranch!! Great hunt for children, and beginners, you will see many antelope, and have many opportunities to harvest one of these speedsters of the plains. Seeing over 100 antelope per day is commonplace.

There is always something going on to keep young hunters interest, and involvement in the hunt. Archery season starts August 15, with rifle running from the middle of September to the end of October.  They offer great archery antelope hunts from blinds set over watering holes, and prime crossing areas. Hunts are 4 day, 5 nights, with lodging, meals, 2X1 guiding, hunt transportation, field, care, capping, and transportation of harvested animals to local meat processor.

COLORADO #92-  RIFLE ELK HUNT- 4 OPENINGS
This outfitter offers great elk hunting at a price that won't break the bank.  You would be hard pressed to find a better quality fully guided hunt on private land at this price.

4 day- 2nd Season          (Oct 17-20) Rifle Elk Hunt @ $2800 Includes Meals, Lodging, and Guide Service. Tags are over the counter.

Cow Elk Hunt Only - Call for dates and availability
Cow license does not include lodging or meals. Outfitter can recommend local hotels in Craig, CO- $1000- 3 day hunt

The outfitter and his fellow partner, both natives of the area all their lives (they are in their 40's), have secured the necessary license and have arranged for a ranch house, 4250 acres of ranch land and additional BLM land in units 12/ 13 to guide on. In all you will be hunting on about 7,200 acres, That's almost 11 square miles.
The property is mid-range in terms of elevations (about 6,000'), which is very good as they have resident herds of deer and elk, they are in the migration zone for the late hunts when the animals leave the higher elevations. These guys are die-hards, to the point of one of them taking his 8 month pregnant wife out on an elk hunt, and calling in a 300 plus bull for her!

They expect success rates to be in the 80% range, with opportunity's at 270 class to 300 class elk. They also have some very reasonably priced cow hunts.
There will be a 2 to 1 guide ratio.  There are often no more than 4 hunters  in camp but camp can accommodate up to 6 hunters.
They use 4 x 4 pickups and ATVS. You will glass to spot the animal then stalk to within range. They can also set you up in a blind if that is your preferred method.
They do free airport pickup from the YVRA (Yampa Valley/Hayden/Steamboat Springs) airport. Once you arrive they will take you to check sight your gun and familiarize you with the area terrain.
