NEW BRUNSWICK #213  DOUBLE UP ON BLACK BEARS
BUY 4 HUNTS GET 5TH FREE!

We have been working with this outfitter since 2008 and they have quite a variety, ranging from excellent black bear in Spring and Fall, to Atlantic Salmon fishing (Spring thru Fall), to superb striped bass fishing, to good bird hunting.

When it comes to bear hunting; these folks have been at or close to 100% for many years! With the new 2014 two bear limit, you can shoot the first good bear you see and then hold out for a bruiser on the second tag. In 2012 they went 18 for 20 with all hunters having opportunities. They maintain many bait stations - far more than needed. The Lodge is practically new, of peeled cedar logs, with a gorgeous stone fireplace. The River is right in front of the Lodge, so a hot shower, and then sitting on the porch with a cold beer is a fine relaxing time!

They very rarely have anyone go home without a bear! Bears will average between 5 to 6.5 feet, although most are in the middle of that range. We like the surroundings here, the nearby river and forest, the comfort and the food! Friendly folks, nice lodging, good food, fishing out the front door, and plenty of bears, and very close to the eastern Seaboard! And all this at an incredible price!!!

2015 PRICES: (OBSERVERS $500)
  • 5 Day One Bear Hunting Trip: SPRING OR FALL $1995
  • Add a second Bear for $750 plus tag.
  • TWO Bear Hunt $2495 if you book both bears up front SAVING $250!
A FEW NOTES- Spring in the Northeast is bug season. Insect repellent and gloves and face masks- but buy and bring along a ThermaCell- they are amazing at keeping you bug free!  Fall bear is normally less buggy, bear success is about the same as Spring (meaning high), and you have the advantage of adding in a day or two of grouse shooting or fishing.

Fall fishing is fly rods only and salmon season is roughly Sept 1 to Oct 15. Bear Season gun is Oct 1 to about Nov 2.  Bow bear season is approx Sept 9-21. . Bird season (ruffed grouse and woodcock) open Oct 1- just walk the roads! Spring bear usually starts around May 15 and runs to third week in June.

ALASKA #233  BROWN BEAR DISCOUNTED HUNTS

This outfitter has been guiding for bear, moose, caribou and the like since 1986, and has maintained a very steady success percentage- generally in the 80 to 90 % range on all species he hunts, meaning bear, caribou, and moose!!

He has three major bear areas, one on Admiralty Island in southeast Alaska, one in the Wood-Tikchick Park in southwest Alaska and another in the Togiak NWR (also SW Alaska).  Most of his Moose and fall Bear hunters initially base out of the lodge, coming and going from the lodge out to small tented spike camps when necessary or desired in order to take advantage of the best locations for hunt success. Sleeping tents consist of six man 4-season dome tents. Logistically supported from Dillingham, the Togiak area Brown Bear hunting is done from remote tent camp locations 20-40 minutes flight time Southwest of the lodge.

Admiralty Island is believed to have the highest brown bear density of any area in the world- an incredible one brownie per square mile. You are hunting literally on the ocean shore in a totally marine environment.  Bears here are good solid mature bears, most will run between 8' to 9' as an honest measurement, and perhaps 2 out 5 or 6 will push 9'.

TOGIAK -These are his two other areas. Very uniquely, this outfitter controls a lease of 1.5 million acres and loaded with prolific salmon runs, salmon streams and gorgeous lakes.

BOW HUNTERS TAKE NOTE: he is 100% on brownies for bow hunters from this camp! The more remote Togiak camps are physically harder, but bears average 9' to 10'. Togiak tends to produce his largest bears, but not always.

These hunt Areas are NOT draws, tags are available. Some tags are available "over the counter" and others are available through the Outfitter as the permit holder for the area.

WYOMING/S. DAKOTA #26- SPRING TURKEY & MORE
This outfitter hunts spring gobblers on over 60,000 acres of private leases here in Northeast Wyoming. They also have access to country in South Dakota. This allows for a two-bird hunt.

Season runs the second Saturday in April through May 20. Hunts are three days for single-bird hunts and four days for two-bird hunts.

Outfitter assists with obtaining the licenses in Wyoming and South Dakota. Licenses will be at the Lodge when you arrive in the Spring.  These big leases hold excellent numbers of Merriams, combined with little hunting pressure, making for excellent calling opportunities on mature gobblers.

The 2014 season was indeed very exciting! 64 clients harvested 60 mature toms, for a 93% harvest rate. 63 of the 64 had opportunities, for a 98% opportunity rate. Of the 64 clients, 43 chose to hunt the second bird in South Dakota. 29 of the 43 harvested their second bird, however they were 34 for 43 opportunity. This also includes 17 misses and cripples. Just like in 2013, they again saw a lot of jakes and had an excellent hatch this
spring. The turkey hunting for the next few years should be outstanding!

All hunts include lodging and meals.
All hunts 2 on 1 guided. 1 on 1 guided is $750.00 additional.

SASKATCHEWAN #18    WHITETAILS & SPRING BEAR
In our experience, while the peak rut is more into mid-November, we seem over the years to have killed our best Saskatchewan bucks late in Nov and into early Dec. Weather is cold, but he has heated blinds and we have a detailed equipment list for you.

Funny how the old saying goes "if you don't like the way things are stick around a while and they will change" As I look at the exchange rate of the US dollar today to the Canadian dollar it has come full circle from a few years ago when the Canadian dollar was trading higher than the US dollar. To today's exchange (3/13/2015) with the US dollar exchanging at $1.00 to $1.28 Canadian, gas is down it's a great time to be hunting in Canada again.

This outfitter bought out his neighboring completion a few years ago, and although it doubled the size of his operation and doubled the number of tags he gets, he has kept the number of hunters down, and is regularly harvesting bears up to 450 lb. One of our clients is going back for his 4th straight year hunting archery spring bear.
The Whitetail deer here will average in the 150 to 160 inch class with a few monsters killed every year. When other are having a hard time showing there hunters mature animals.

Food is very good and plentiful home cooking, with some good desserts! Accommodations are clean and comfortable individual cabins with beds and linens (no sleeping bag needed), refrigerator, stove, electric heaters etc. Main lodge had satellite TV DVD player, laundry and 2 showers and toilets.

Deer hunts Nov/Dec. 6 days   $3500
Spring Bear May/June 6 days $2850

This is a small family run business that takes normally 4 to 8 hunters per week. They scout year round. They have box blinds and elevated stands as well as lock-ons and self climbers. They bait extensively, but they are flexible and will allow other methods such as still hunting, rattling , hunting scrape lines, etc. They have a heated shop for skinning out trophies. All meals are home cooked and lunches are made up each day for you. They have good modern trucks and ATVs.

He has excellent black bear hunts, and in fact has a group of 7 guys who have come back every year for many years, always with virtually 100% success, including bears up into the 300 and 400 pound class, with many color phase bears. He normally is 100% on opportunity, and the average bear is a good solid 225 to 275 pounds, with plenty larger. Colors range from black to chocolate, to red and to blonde. He usually sets out 24 stands, but only takes about 10 guys in Spring and even fewer in the fall, sometimes as few as 3 to 5 in Fall.

ALASKA #243    SUPERB CHARTER FISHING
We have worked with this very fine outfitter for many years, sending people to his excellent Alaska Fishing operation and also to his very successful (and very reasonable Idaho whitetail Lodge. $2,500.00 per Hunter Includes seven full days of hunting call for details).

In terms of a good place to fish, this area, which is 70 miles west of Juneau, is relatively remote, is very scenic and most importantly it is lightly fished compared to many other areas in southeast Alaska. We feel that is vital in terms of catching fish. And the float plane ride in is stunning in its beauty and grandeur.
You will be fishing off his 31 foot twin engine charter boat (we like the safety of twins). He is a licensed vendor so you can purchase your licenses and tags right from him on arrival. He has excellent tackle including top notch down-riggers and full electronics with radar.

Your Captain had lodges in a number of areas in Alaska-- before choosing this place - and he will happily tell you this is his best place ever. He is licensed for 6 passengers but prefers 3 to 4, although a friendly group of 6 is just fine. You will fish for King Salmon, for Halibut, for Silver Salmon, for some very large saltwater Rock Fish (fun and an excellent eating fish! Other species include Ling Cod, Pink Salmon, Red Salmon, Chum salmon and more.
Plenty of action, on the average 4 day trip - you take limits on Salmon other bottom fish like rock fish, Ling Cod and then 4 Halibut. All this adds up to at least two boxes or more of absolutely delicious table fare.

SPECIAL: As of 3/1/15: New- 6 king possession limit!
Arrive on June 10 and fish the king salmon derby the 11-12-13 and 14th (derby is the 12-13 and 14th) the 11th would be explore day-

Next date is even better -arrive June 15 and fish June 16-17-18-and 19- your guys need to act on this asap as bookings are up this year-

HAPPY CLIENTS:
"Of course JUST being in Alaska would have been enough to make any of us excited but THIS OUTFITTER AND HIS WIFE took our experience to another level. They made us feel like we were family. In fact my husband said, and I quote "Man, I wish he was my dad. He's awesome!" My sister and I even cried a little as we were heading back home, knowing that it might be awhile before we see them all again!

You will stay in their Lodge which includes a 1500 square foot great room with pool table, card table, internet, satellite TV, bar, laundry facilities and much more. All meals are carefully prepared by your skipper's lovely wife. Expect to be well fed with steak, roast beef, full turkey dinners, pork chops and chicken. She will also make up your lunches for the boat.

TRANSPORT: Fly to Juneau. Then you will fly with Alaska Seaplanes direct to the waterfront by the Lodge. Round trip cost is about $350/person, but it can fluctuate with airplane fuel prices.. There is a 4:00 PM flight from Juneau to Pelican. They meet you at the floatplane dock.
