Important Instructions for Poinsettia Pick-up
The Altar Guild would like to say thank you to all who so generously supported their annual holiday flower sale. The chapel looks especially beautiful and festive. Please wait until noon on Friday to pick up your flowers so that we can enjoy them during the Festivals of Lessons and Carols. Leigh Jones, Marty Keeton, and Becky Clodfelter will be there to assist you at pick up. If you ordered a poinsettia to honor a teacher, you do not need to pick it up. The Altar Guild will deliver it for you.
Many thanks and Merry Christmas!

The Canterbury Parents' Blog Is Back...
... with two new posts you won't want to miss. Get to know our wonderful Lower School Learning Specialist Roanne Ornelles, who loves to demystify learning disabilities for her students. Also, Kelly McKee shares what it was like to attend the exciting dedication of the Science and Technology Center. Finally, do you or your child have an anecdote to share about how Canterbury has helped him or her become comfortable speaking or performing in public? Andrea Crossley Spencer wants to hear from you. Please email her at [email protected].
Sign Up For After School Fine Arts
Canterbury is offering many exciting after school fine arts opportunities for Spring 2015. Check out the list in the After School Fine Arts Spring 2015 document. If you would like to enroll your child, please contact the instructor directly. Please do not contact Canterbury School. You're more likely to get your preferred times and days if you register by tomorrow. Study hall will be available for $10 per day to students who enroll in classes that begin later than 3:15pm.
Love LEGOs?
Don't miss the next Bricks 4 Kidz after school opportunity starting Friday, Jan. 9. This five-week session (all Fridays, Jan. 9 - Feb. 6) will have students building and exploring crazy contraptions that really work their brains. Students will use LEGO bricks, axles, pulleys, gears, and motors to create fun and interactive models. They will compete with friends in a rousing game of Battle Tops or Foosball, put their hand-eye coordination to the test with the Ping-Pong Popper model, and experiment with the Mini Fig Mover. See the flyer here. The cost is $75 for all five sessions. Please register by completing this form and returning it with payment. Put Bricks 4 Kidz on the memo line of the check.
Canterbury Yearbook Will Be On TreeRing For 2015
Again this year, we will create our yearbook with the web-based company TreeRing. Working on the TreeRing website, families will be able to upload photos to share and can create their own two custom pages that will feature each student in his or her personal yearbook. And, because we are working on a website, work may be done at home or anywhere!
Making custom pages is a relatively easy process - like on-line scrapbooking - and help will be available to those who need it. Students will have fun creating their own pages.
So, what should families do now?
-
If you had an account last year, it is still active. You can sign in and start work any time. Feel free to upload photos to the community folders and share memories.
-
If you did not participate in the yearbook last year, be on the lookout for an email in early January that will include a flyer inviting you to sign up to the secure TreeRing Canterbury site.
-
Remember, a yearbook is included in tuition for all K-8th grade students.
Ready to Venture Out?
