Turkey Trot

The 2015 "Turkey Trot with a Kick" on Thursday, November 19th will utilize a new format this year. The children will participate in a Kickball tournament that will be administered in the various PE classes throughout the day. The Kick It Foundation is the designated charity this year which supports pediatric and adolescent cancer research. Our surrounding villages have children that are currently battling cancer, and this is an opportunity for Kenilworth to show we care and support a wonderful cause. Steve Calk and The Federal Savings Bank have graciously donated the T-shirts for the event so the JSSPVA can proudly make a donation of $2,950.00 on behalf of the school to the Kick It Foundation. Children should get ready to bring their many talents to the "2015 Turkey Trot with a Kick" kickball tournament later this month.

8th Grade Service Project

The 8th graders have kicked-off their Toys for Refugees project.  The 8th grade goal is to collect 200 gifts for refugees, ages 1-19, in the next three weeks. There is a "Giving Tree" covered in blue hearts in the hall at Sears.  Please encourage your child to pull a heart, shop for the requested gift, and  and return the gift to the trees with the heart attached.  The 8th graders will take the gifts to Refugee One on December 7th and wrap them and also prepare a holiday party for the refugees.  Thank you for your support of the 8th grade 8ces program and of Refugee One.
