The JSSPVA Wants You! 2015-16 Board Nominations Starting

The Nominating Committee is beginning the process of slating the JSSPVA Board for the 2015-16 School Year. The JSSPVA is the heart of the Sears Community, as its volunteers coordinate many of our most treasured Sears programs and traditions including:  Family Fun Day, Sears Cafe, Chess Club, the Benefit, Enrichment, Ability Awareness, etc. Are you interested in becoming more involved in your child's school? Do you have a suggestion of someone who has a special talent who might be just right for the PVA? The time is now! New Sears families are welcome and encouraged to learn more - we want to hear from you! Teacher Appreciation

The Teacher Appreciation Committee will host a luncheon for faculty and staff during conferences on Thursday, February 12. If you would like to contribute a home-baked dessert for this lunch please contact Melissa Ross at mahross22@gmail.com.

Parent Visitation Day Information and Schedule

On February 6, 2015, The Joseph Sears School will host a Parent Visitation Day for our elementary parents with children in grades Kindergarten thru Fifth grades.
  
Schedule:

8:30-9:10 AM - K - 1st

9:15-9:55 AM - 2nd - 3rd

10:00-10:40 AM - 4th - 5th

  • Come to school and visit your child's classroom and experience their learning.
  • Activities will involve you.
  • We request that parents do not bring food or beverages into the classroom and silence all technology.
  • If you have students in the same "period", you may do 20 minutes in one room and 20 in the next.
There will be no Parent Visitation day for Junior High. However, 8th grade parents are invited to a New Trier information session from 8:30-9:52AM that morning in the Auditorium. We will show the New Trier Academic Life video and host a Question and Answer session.

New Trier Class of 2019 Updates

Feb. 13 - Online Course Selection Deadline 

Summer school registration is open and runs through March 20. Freshman are eligible for enrichment, athletics and introductory academic courses. Freshman are not eligible for courses that earn graduation credit. 

New Trier's Kinesis Dance Program is Thursday, Feb. 5 and Friday Feb. 6th.
