Greetings! ,
Nadine and me
Nadine and I

Spring is sprung and flowers aren't the only thing popping up all over - so are puppies!  In this newsletter I've put together a "puppy reality" check list to help you narrow down your choices.
Of course, I have the new "Dog of the Month" featured, class updates, upcoming dog events, some touching news and a sweet dog video that will make you say "Awwww"!
Happy Spring!

Doggy Tip

All those cute bundles of fur are so irresistible an before we realize it, we hear ourselves say "I'll take this one!" O.K. people...just back away from the puppy! Before you pick your perfect little best friend there's a lot to consider above and beyond the high cuteness factor! So before you even think about leaving the safety of your home to look at puppies, answer the following:

Why do you want a puppy? Answer this question first to help you decide what puppy would be the best fit for your life. If you want a dog to go running with you, a Dachshund isn't your best pick!
How much is that doggy in the window? A dog is a huge financial investment - up to $23,000 over twelve years and he's a big time investment so do your budget first!
The Dating Game, puppy-style.
If you could ask a group of prospective puppies, sight unseen, questions to determine which one would be your perfect match, what would you want to know? Do you want a feisty pup? An independent dog? A cuddly fur baby?

Now that you've done your prep work, you can finally trust yourself (somewhat) to leave the house and look at puppies. Make sure to check out breeders thoroughly and don't buy a puppy from a pet store. Many are often puppy mill puppies and their physical and emotional health has been seriously compromised.

Millie pup
Meet Millie, a wonderful German Shepherd puppy who is, as all puppies are, one small, soon to be big, bundle of energy!  Millie is a very fast learner and we're working on her "sit", "watch me", "down", "go to bed" and loose leash walking.  Now if we can just get those needle sharp teeth under control, we'll be in good shape!
 Wonderful Puppy Video!
