After fourteen years of working with dogs in a volunteer capacity, I'm so excited to be up to my eyeballs in doing what I'm passionate about - working with owners and their dogs to help them build a relationship filled with mutual respect, love and fun!
In this newsletter, I'll be sharing tips, stories, upcoming classes, events and lots more to help you have a great relationship with your dog.
So let's get started!

Training Tip:
To Pull or Not to Pull - That is the question
"My dog pulls me all over the place". It one of the most common issues I hear from owners. Using the old tools and techniques
- choke collars, prong collars, electric
shock collars, yanking up on the leash
to stop a dog's pulling - is using fear and pain to correct a behavior. And that's no way to treat a best friend!
The answer? Using an anti-pull leash combined with training your dog to walk on a loose leash. There are lots of products that claim to be anti-pull harnesses but the true ones have you clip the leash onto an O-ring located in the middle of your dog's chest, rather than from the back of his harness. Premier makes a great one. Believe me, it can make a huge difference right off the bat!! Add training to loose leash walking and - voila! - You're both enjoying a fun and controlled walk. |
